Hi folks! Not sure I have much to say about this one. It's a pretty simple tune. The only thing different in this one was that I wanted to use the Hypersynth's new shapes, so the song started out with me just laying down a few chords and noodling on from there. Other than that, this still sounds a lot like my usual sound palette.

Quick and dirty today, I'm in Bilbao and my schedule is far too full, but my head full of ideas, too. I already got something for next week in my head, but I'll need more time to flesh it out.

We saw the musical Cabaret tonight and this was the message I took away. Fun fact, the flute arp sounds almost like the closing siren of Bilbao's metro doors, and of course, fitting the scene, I'm using the trusty »Berlin« resonator again.

Short grimey one this week

Just a few VSTs tossed together. Ran the lead sound through some pedals and had fun with that. Then I ran the mix into a filter for some sweeps. That's pretty much it. Will probably revisit to make it a bit longer and more varied

Extra super duper thanks to jegasus for telling me I should do something with last week's idea (the "Dancing ashes" ambient doodle).

I was so tired when I got back home that I spent my first two days in my room just creating a kit in my old and stuborn E-MU ESi32 sampler. The workflow is slow and sometimes clunky, yet oddly conforting.

I also choose the year Rewire died to start syncing Ableton and Renoise, so I'm always late to every technology.

Drumkit sequenced in Renoise. Extra drums from one of the lamest drum machines ever created, the Suzuki RPM40.

No bassline. The vague "phrase" you could hear are the different deep 808/BR8 kicks and the toms interacting within themselves.

Somewhat I dumpled everything into audio clips and messed with it in Ableton. It is messy and probably I could achieve a cleaner sound just using "in the box" samples...

Yet I had a lot of fun :)

been a super busy week of prepping for final semester, prepping for the Burn, and taking care of wifey who was sicky this weeky. only had a bit of time today to work on it. used a sample from a clip a friend sent that i will be listening to in full on the drive to the Burn. hope to be able to work on next week's track some before i go because then i probably won't be able to submit from there breaking my streak this year!
