Could not get anything done this week. Somehow nothing wanted to materialise, so it's time for a bit of a cheat week.

› How‹ HowThis is a lightly edited excerpt of a jam I did a few months ago together with a friend of mine. We own 3 MS-20's between the two of us, so of course we just had to hear them drone all at once. During the jam we were patching around with a bunch of other stuff, including a Syntrx I, Picocore, Bastl Kastl, Norns, a couple effect pedals and a laptop running Ableton Live. We recorded the whole thing with the TE TP-7. For Weekly Beats I made some small edits and mastering tweaks in Logic.

This week, I went to help my old father with some work on his house. Lot of dust in my eyes, ears and lungs.

Meanwhile, while I was waiting at the hospital yesterday for my father because he was pretty ill, I managed to work a bit on my latest M4L unit. I also reused some granular and synth presets I made for Abyss 2 by Dawesome that was released this week. My father is ok :)

I decided to be in a kind of IDM/myself musical period for the next album I'll release with these tracks. Because yeah, I will release 7 album this year, thanks to Weekly Beats!

I hope you enjoy this gritty-sounding tribal track, the title of which is inspired by the name of my father’s house.

This piece came together in two sessions with the PureSalem Mendiola (first version). There are three tracks: neck pickup (left channel), both pickups (center, mostly chords), and right channel (bridge). I'd been listening again to Slowdive's Pygmalion, and had the thought of doing something with a touch of rhythmically synchronized echo, so there's some of that on the neck and bridge pickups, along with a send to a convolution reverb from each channel.

The title comes from the elevation of Third Hill Mountain in West Virginia, at 660m.

i met Sally as a fellow student through the School of Song courses that i've been yammering about. there was a mutual appreciation for the work each of us was doing on our homework assignments, so i was stoked when Sally reached out after class wrapped up to see if i was available for hire/ interested in co-producing & mixing her debut album.

'bird' is being released as the first single from the album, and i'll make sure to post a link once it goes live. i am sharing it here with Sally's permission as this is what i was working on this week.
