On Sept. 6, 1949, Howard Unruh killed 13 people in 12 minutes. If he'd had enough bullets, he later said, he would have "killed a thousand." (America’s First Mass Shooting) *** I’ll share an account of a large dragon reportedly living about forty miles south of London, England. (The Dragon of St. Leonard's Forest) *** Boxer John “Chicken” Devine ended up spending more time in the brig than in the ring – and thus began his career of crime. (A Boxer’s Life of Crime) *** A battle-hardened marine camping with his fellow soldiers is engulfed in fear at a terrifying figure in the nighttime brush. (The Man With No Face) *** You might think sightings of the infamous “Men In Black” or M.I.B. might be rare. You’d be wrong – I’ll share a long, very long, list of actual reports of people seeing and interacting with the strange men in black. (True MIB Encounters) *** Agnes Bowker claimed she had given birth, not to a human baby – but to a feline creature. Insane? Yes – but she had witnesses to confirm it was the truth. (The Curious Case of Agnes Bowker’s Cat)

IN THIS EPISODE: (Dark Archives episode with stories from February 13-14, 2019) *** Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb should never have been friends, they were too different from on another. IN THIS EPISODE: I’ll share a disturbing creepypasta by Rehn Writer called “Fertilizer”. But first, I’ll share a chapter from the upcoming audiobook, “Suffer the Children: American Horrors, Homicides and Hauntings” by Troy Taylor. The chapter is entitled “1921: Murder at Kluxen’s Woods” - a murder that has yet to be officially solved, although many hundreds of people in the area feel they know exactly who got away with murder. A murder that resulted in a haunting.

In Brazil, two corpses were found on a hill, dressed in matching suits with homemade lead masks draped over their eyes. (The Lead Masks Case) *** If you were to be asked who the most horrible, terrifying figure in the Bible was, you would likely say Lucifer – that is, Satan himself. But there is a figure even more terrifying – and it is God’s right-hand man in the book of Revelation. (God’s Right Hand Man) *** Horror – the stories and images seem to change with each passing year, but there was a violent shift in horror shortly after the violent reality of the “War to End All Wars”. (How Horror Changed After World War 1) *** Two sisters rebel against their depressing family life by diving into witchcraft – and soon learn it was not a wise decision. (Leftover Magic) *** In 1827, young Maria Marten slipped into a red barn to meet her secret lover. It was the last time she would be seen alive. (Murder in the Red Barn) *** Madeleine Smith had a rich fiancé, a secret lover, and one heck of a secret hot chocolate recipe. A lethal secret recipe. (The Hot Cocoa Killer) *** Was the 1971 Lloyds Bank safety deposit robbery a covert operation to retrieve compromising photos of Royalty? (The Baker Street Robbery) *** From mouths nailed shut to being buried headfirst in the ground, throughout history the fear of witches has led to extraordinary measures to keep the dead from rising from the grave. (How To Bury a Witch) *** From creepy voices to mysterious movements to strange laughter and eerie deaths, the legend of Robert the Doll outshines many cursed object stories and has been haunting people for over a hundred years, and shows no sign of slowing down. IN THIS EPISODE: They say the family that plays together stays together… but does that also mean that the family that crimes together does time together? We’ll look at a few true cases of parents committing crimes – and getting help from their children in doing so. (The Family That Preys Together) *** A hunter comes across a wild man in the woods… but what he hears from the humanoid doesn’t sound like a man at all. (The Man I Saw Through My Night Vision Scope) *** What would you do if you showed up to work one morning and your employer asked you to help dispose of a dead body? Don’t be so quick to say that would never happen. That’s just one part of the story of one of the most notorious crimes of 19th century America – the murder of John Parkman. (Dr. Coolidge Settles a Debt) *** Skipping church to go fishing might get you more than just a guilty conscience – especially if you believe the strange story of the Lambton Worm. (The Legend of the Lambton Worm) *** In 1800s numerous scientists were trying to find the reason for life in the hopes of staving off death or even bringing the recently dead back to life. But in 1818 one scientist named Andrew Ure attempted to do even more – to bring the brain of dead human back into the living. And ironically, his experiments took place the very same year the novel “Frankenstein” was published. (The Real-Life Dr. Frankenstein)

During the 1-900 number craze of the Nineties, one company provided the vast majority of phone sex. American Telnet was an empire founded by the man who called himself “The Telephone Pimp.” He ran the company “like General Motors” and got filthy rich doing it. But for the (mostly) women who answered the calls and delivered fantasies 24-7, it was a different story. The powerful stigma against sex work was always lurking just beneath the surface, until it threatened to tear apart the whole company. Hosted by Tina Horn (Why Are People Into That?), OPERATOR is an eight-part series about big ambitions, Shakespearean-level corporate backstabbing, men and women at the cutting edge of a technological revolution...and on the front lines of a sexual one.

HOUR ONE: You know what they say about a woman scorned. We’ll look at the most murderous wives in history – maybe it’ll give some of the men listening an idea of what to avoid in a relationship! (Murderous Wives) *** Most people have at least a passing knowledge of who Typhoid Mary was, and how she spread typhoid to others while being asymptomatic herself – but the full story is a lot sadder than you’ve been told. (The Jimmy Carter UFO Sighting) *** While most pregnancies go off without a hitch, once in a while there are abnormalities – and sometimes those abnormalities aren’t with the delivery, but with the pregnancy itself. We’ll look at some bizarre real stories of pregnancies that gave almost everyone involved a shock! (Perplexing Pregnancies) *** Stories of monsters have been told for thousands of years – but there are a few cryptids that we had no idea about until relatively recently. We’ll look at a few monsters that we didn’t know about until just a few years ago! (Modern Monsters) *** And more!
