Ryan Veldhuizen is a 4th generation farmer from Edgerton, Minnesota. The Veldhuizen's farm has a typical heritage for southwest Minnesota. The family has been in the region dating back to 1911. They own pigs from sow to finish and market about 45,000 hogs annually! The family also raises corn, wheat and soybeans. Back in 2014, Ryan was one of 6 farmers featured in a documentary called "Farmlands" that wanted to bridge the gap between food growers and food consumers by presenting farmers' and ranchers' perspectives on producing food. It was directed by Academy Award winning director James Moll. This was a fun conversation! Enjoy!
