In season 4, episode 2 we sat down with Coach Keam.
An impressive man with wisdom beyond his years, Ben Keam shares his journey from growing up in Tasmania to his passion for the health and fitness industry which led him to the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Bali and finally to settling here in Perth.
But it has been a tough ride at times. After a scooter crash, termite-infested villa and difficulty securing jobs, he and his now fiancé, Bernadette, almost gave it all up whilst in Bali. A chance meeting with a tattooed entrepreneur in a boxing gym was the sliding door moment that turned it all around.
Ben talks about the things he's learned along the way; both about himself and within the industry he is so passionate about. Ben has found boxing an amazing outlet for him, alongside boxing sessions, he has created a space for men to be vulnerable and talk about challenges going on in their own lives.
An interesting look into the life of someone who hasn't necessarily done things by the book and who has had to rebuild and start afresh in a new city more than once, Ben's story is a must for anyone needing a little inspiration, or curious about starting their own business in the fitness industry.
We're back with season 4!
Not only is "Kitch" the GM of Dimattina Coffee, Leigh is also the captain of the Subiaco Football Club and the proud owner of The Handsome Stranger caravan bar.
We follow Leigh's journey, from growing up on the East Coast, his decision between footy and basketball and his move to WA. Who knows, maybe that decision will even put him in a Dockers jersey later this season as COVID wreaks havoc in the 2022 AFL season.
A catch up with a great human being (with only a few interruptions from passers-by), this is a must for anyone who loves their footy, a good cup of coffee or is thinking about starting a small business.
David's voice & skill on a guitar is unbelievable. It's taken him around the world from South Africa to the US to playing on global cruises to South East Asia, where he started his own business running bar tours on beautiful islands. He's a storyteller by nature & this interview doesn't disappoint as he shares his adventourous story with us.

Kevin discusses how they pivoted & managed to make their business still viable, which he attributes to some of the businesses success today.

Trent, like many other graduates of a UWA commerce degree went straight into work along St Georges terrace in his early 20s. Working in the corporate world as an advisor & analyst for big businesses, helping increase their profits however despite earning good money... something was missing.
He went through a quarter life crisis which saw him quit the rat race & go solo travelling the world for 18 months, using the income he'd created from developing his own properties to fund his trip.
Whilst learning to become a safari guide in South Africa, he reflected on what work he could do that would give him real purpose & meaning. Which is when he decided he would help his friends set themselves up financially the same way he had... with property development. That's when Strategic Property Group was created.
Trent's business has grown to now be the leading property development consultancy in Perth. You'll also see Trent regularly on channel 9 news & his weekly segment on 6PR giving his insights on the property market here in Perth. He is also up to episode 138 on his podcast "The Perth Property Show". Trent's mission is to help Perth people make informed property purchases & stop the unnecessary urban sprawl, leaving some people in negative equity.
A great interview which not only follows Trent's very interesting life story but also gives listeners a lot of valuable info on what not to do & what to look for when purchasing a property in Perth.
