Our speaker is Karen Elliott House who is the former Managing Editor at the Wall Street Journal, and the author of a new book entitled The Man Who Would Be King: Mohammed bin Salman and the Transformation of Saudi Arabia. Karen previously won the Pulitzer Prize for her reporting in the Middle East.

Our speaker is Ricardo Hausmann who is a Professor of International Political Economy at Harvard’s Kennedy School, and he is also the Founder and Director of Harvard’s Growth Lab. I want to find out from Ricardo why know-how is so important and why additional capital and labor isn’t valuable if workers don’t know what to do.

Our speaker is Daron Acemoglu who won the Nobel Prize in Economics. Daron is a Professor at MIT and is also the co-author of Power and Progress: Our Thousand-Year Struggle over Technology and Prosperity. I want to learn about how AI will improve productivity as well as its effect on inequality. We will compare AI’s impact with the industrial revolution to understand better how the choices that we make will alter work and our society.

Our speaker is John Sides who is the Chair of the Political Science Department at Vanderbilt and the author of the book entitled The Bitter End: The 2020 Presidential Campaign and the Challenge to American Democracy. I want to find out from John what he learned by analyzing the data from the 2024 presidential election that explained Trump’s outperformance. I also want to hear what John thinks will be the key metrics to predict the outcome of the midterm elections.

Our speaker is John Bolton who is Trump’s former national security advisor. This podcast was taped at a conference that I hosted in DC. So, you are going to hear questions from my friends as well as me. I want to learn about whether the events in Gaza will lead to peace. In addition, I want to hear about what will happen next in Ukraine.

Our speaker is Robert Malley who is a Senior Fellow at Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs and previously has worked in the Clinton, Obama, and Biden Administrations.  He is also the co-author of a new book entitled Tomorrow is Yesterday: Life, Death, and the Pursuit of Peace in Israel/Palestine.

Our speaker is Yaakov Katz who is the former editor in chief for the Jerusalem Post and the author of the new book entitled While Israel Slept: How Hamas Surprised the Most Powerful Military in the Middle East. I want to hear how the Israelis screwed up, and what Hamas was thinking making a surprise attack.

Our speaker is Jon Shields who is a Professor of Political Science at Claremont McKenna. Jon recently finished a study of nearly 30,000 college syllabi where he found that there is political bias in reading materials assigned. I want to hear from Jon about what students are reading in class and whether there is real debate in the classrooms.

Our speaker is Patrick Allitt who is a Professor of History at Emory. Patrick also works with The Great Courses where he will be releasing a series of lectures on rivers. I hope to learn from Patrick the history of dams and why they were critical for the growth and financial success of the Western United States.
