In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the injury status of Nick Backstrom and Tom Wilson. Nick Backstrom who had a hip resurfacing procedure done in Belgium in off season is show signs of improvement. He has been cleard to be a full participant in team practices which includes the removal of the non-contact jersey. Tom Wilson who suffered a knee injury in the first game of the playoffs last season is showing signs of improvement as well. He has been skating on a line with Alex Oveckin and Nick Backstrom

Later Dan talks about the injury to TJ Oshie and Darcy Kuemper. The Capitals play much better when Oshie is in the lineup. Oshie is still week to week for an upper body injury. Darcy Kuemper has returned and looks to get a start either against the Senators or the Jets. Darcy has been steady in net he just needs to stay healty.

In the last segment Dan talks about the future of Peter Laviolette in Washington. Peter is the winningest US born coach and has done the best with what he's has consider the myriad of injuries this Capitals team has faced.
