The coffee cup universe is still alive and it's trying to talk to us now. This week on When Boredom Strikes, we start with the iPhone 18 review nobody asked for, the "going raw" no-case debate, and a phone from 2012 that refuses to die. Then it turns into a full T-Mobile rant: a 5G home internet that couldn't handle FIFA, a returned box that STILL got charged, and a Verizon guy who kept throwing in deals until we got $400 in gift cards and two free months. Too good to be true? We do the math (badly).

We also figure out that everybody is secretly 9 months older than their birthday, argue about whether babies poop in the womb, roast someone who has never worn shorts, react to AI cracking Adobe and PS5 games, hackers getting cops called on them over Call of Duty, and the new Call of Duty trailer going after North Korea. Welcome back to When Boredom Strikes! This week one of the boys thinks he’s a scientifically perfect specimen because nothing ever happens to him. No COVID, no allergies, and a shoulder surgery recovery so fast his doctor was supposedly shocked. Then things go off the rails. We get into whether you’re only truly free when you’re dead, what happens if the afterlife is just the TV turning off, and the theory that life works like a Call of Duty respawn where you need coins to continue.

Then comes the potato fly saga. A forgotten sack of potatoes turned into a full fruit fly situation, there’s a TikTok apple cider vinegar trap, and someone gets offered $1,000 to drink coffee that has basically become its own ecosystem. We also cover Amazon Prime Day deals, the bubonic plague in Russia, NBA 2K25 shutting down its servers, reincarnation, and whether turtles look at humans the way we look at flies.

On the sports side, the guys go off about Ronaldo getting benched against Norway and walking out on Portugal, Messi’s farewell drone show opening with an ad, and the Kai Cenat vs. IShowSpeed mix-up. To close it out, we debate boiled eggs for dinner, why nobody makes one giant pancake, and whether the three of us should split a $2,000 cow.

Ep. 284 goes completely off the rails and we're not even sorry. We start with a handshake rule nobody asked for, somehow end up debating what the world would look like if Hitler won the war, and then spend a full ten minutes arguing that the Strait of Hormuz sounds like a dessert you'd order at a fancy restaurant. From there it's a full dessert tier list — is crème brûlée upper middle class? Is lava cake for the peasants? — plus hibachi etiquette, the Chipotle protein cheat code that made one of our kids question his whole life, and a heated debate about who's actually allowed to own a Panda Express.

Then things get heavy. We break down the Lindsay Clancy mistrial, the $1.2 million GoFundMe, the crowd outside the courtroom, and the one juror who wouldn't budge. We look up what postpartum depression actually is, run the numbers on how many mothers vs fathers kill their kids every year, and the stat completely flips what everybody assumes. Somebody walked in with homemade deconstructed lattes and the whole episode went off the rails from there. We rate the coffee, argue about microplastics, name his future coffee company (Grounded, with a tree instead of the E), and then find out people are actually paying $30-$40 at coffee shops to build their OWN latte at the table. That's it. That's the business. You pay them, then you do the labor. Somehow it's still cheaper than Korean BBQ.

This one got away from us fast. What started as a fight over a Barcelona jersey turned into the deepest rabbit hole we've ever gone down on this show 👀 Craig comes in loaded with conspiracy theories and doesn't let up. We watch THE video — the one with the car in the house, the firefighters, and the body bag — and try to figure out what we're actually looking at. Allegedly. We're just asking questions. We also get into why Ellen DeGeneres left the country, whether the timeline lines up, and how a Christopher Nolan tangent somehow fit in there too. Then it's GTA 6. The leaker has the whole game — the plot, the footage, the map, all of it — and Rockstar can't stop him.
