On this episode, I again interview spiritual savant Kevin Cann, co-author with Jeff Kripal of Chapter 3 from “How to Think Impossibly,” Kripal’s latest book.

Cann is the originator of what he calls a new synthesis of spirituality and ontology, called Platonic Surrealism. 

Combining elements of analytical idealism, neo-platonism, gnosticism, cabala, the interface theory of perception, imaginal semiotics, and more, Cann’s PS is a highly developed and elegant architecture meant to help explain the meaning of purpose of existence, the nature of the UFO, non-human intelligence, and much more.

In this conversation, we discuss how Cann’s many extraordinary experiences and his history with autism, trauma, and abuse have helped him see beyond the illusory nature of this life, and perceive the deeper layers of reality. 

We also discuss the nature of the human soul, the universe, God, and much more. 

We also discuss an upcoming class at Esalen, scheduled for this December, that will highlight Cann’s work, as well as that of author and thinker Joshua Cutchin and Professor Jeffrey Kripal.

The class, “The Soul is a UFO: Understanding and Embracing Transcendence,” will offer students a thorough overview of platonic surrealism, and teach them several methods Cann has developed for accessing the deeper levels of reality. Cann and Kripal will lead the class.
