Josh and Charles close out The Roboverse with the 2014 remake RoboCop. There will be rankings. There will be MVPs. And if they end up making more of these, we can only hope that RoboCop 5 is after the Great Defunding and Murphy can finally go chill with the precogs at that cool house in the countryside.

With only a 3% on Rotten Tomatoes, RoboCop 3 joins Jaws: The Revenge and Shrek the Third as yet another overlooked and underloved sequel. Especially in a time where Black Americans are disproportionately affected by our racist criminal injustice system, this entry in The Roboverse watches like a fairy tale, as cops throw away their badges to protect their community and a scientist refuses orders to brainwash the RobotCop so that he can join a badass group of protesters fighting against the dehumanizing nightmare that is corporate America.

The Roboverse continues with the right-wing pro-cop trash heap that is RoboCop 2. Please donate to something that Frank Miller would hate.

At the end of 2019, when Josh and Charles decided to include The Roboverse for WWIE2020, they did not realize that it would come out the same week that American cops would once again show themselves to be the militarized progenitor of racist violence, systemic bigotry, and mindless brutality. Verhoeven knew what was up in ‘87, and it is sadly fitting to cover RoboCop today, where it is somehow even more relevant.

The boys have spent over two months living in The Furiousverse, and will sorely miss the cars, the friends, and the harpoon guns as they wait until the Family returns in Fast 9. In addition to the rankings and MVPs, here is also a list of everything Josh did while watching Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw:

Josh and Charles are making another podcast called Why Won't It End? and putting it under the Patreon PayBlanket. Don't worry, the boys still Watch-a The Movies™, this time just different movies. It's good stuff. The boys will be looking at franchise actors in non-franchise movies, and it will come out every other Friday, starting June 5. Sign up now so you don’t miss a goddamn thing.

Eight episodes into The Furiousverse and the boys are still laughing, crying, screaming, and running around the room over all these cars and harpoon guns. Josh and Charles watch The Fate of the Furious, and Josh gets into how sad it is to be the Mayor of Rock ‘n’ Roll City.

The Furiousverse cruises into its seventh week, and this time the boys are joined by Jesse Rose-Pulitzer to discuss Furious 7. There’s family talk and car talk of course, but also which-character-from-Serenity-best-corresponds-to-a-Democratic-Primary-nominee talk as well.
