A very long way from Instant Motivation

I really hated this audiobook. It reads like a research thesis, not an enjoyable and engaging book.

The author/reader drones on giving example after example of this and then that and then another example of this and then a reference to that and it goes on and on.

I really struggled to find anything worthwhile here, and what is there is so hidden by the junk and clutter its hard to find, especially in an audiobook.

This is a long way from instant motivation. It needs a good editor to trim it down and it really needs a new narrator. The narrator has some trouble reading the lengthy sentences often, forgetting they continue after the first example with another example or two and then even more unnecessary nonsense to read out.

If this wasnt part of a two-for-one, I would be getting my money back.

I really enjoyed this book even though I realised half way through it that it had very little to do with the subject of Instant Motivation. I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to change their perspective and tackle unwanted anxiety that dominates their life, but if you want some Instant Motivation try something else.

The Ultimate UpWork Strategy Guide

The tips and tricks in this book are immediately applicable to your profile and proposals. Already, I received my first âinvitation to interviewâ (!!!) and Iâve won more jobs this week than usual. The psychology behind UpWork is fascinating and involves elements that never would have crossed my mind otherwise. I recommend reading Dominate on UpWork to anyone that is serious about making UpWork their kickass career platform.

Useful, but somewhat problematic

Overall, this book has some great advice for freelancing on Upwork--I'll definitely be using some of the author's suggestions. In that sense, it's a very useful reference book that I'll keep around to come back to later.

That being said, I have two issues with it. First, this book is full of typos. I don't think it's great for a freelancing guide to have so many typos--it just doesn't seem as credible when wrong words are used or punctuation doesn't make sense. There are some VERY obvious mistakes throughout. If the author is a writer himself, he should be aware of how important this would be in a book about freelance writing!

In addition, there's a section that basically states you should never accept freelance offers from anyone in a certain country. I found that very offensive. Even if the author has had bad experiences with clients from this particular country, it's very judgmental for him to assume everyone there would be the same way. I don't think that is appropriate or politically correct...

Highly Recommended, Helped make crucial changes to my Upwork game

Having been using Upwork for some time with mild success on landing clients I gave this book a read. Upon finishing, I took the advice and changed my profile and approach to clients and immediately saw an increase in the number of clients, along with quality. If you are looking to be more successful and push your freelance work to the next level, I highly recommend this book

A great how-to-guide

With this book, intended as a `working guide' and a `how-to-guide', the authors have reduced the huge volume of available information on the art of negotiation into an easily accessible resource for busy executives who need to prepare for everyday negotiations. But this book will also be useful for any person wanting to learn the art of negotiating.

Negotiating is a bit like breathing. Everybody negotiates constantly -- all day long. You negotiate with your family, friends, shop owners, customers, colleagues...and even with yourself! In fact, we negotiate with ourselves all the time.

Self-negotiation is usually a conversation between our more rational self and our impulsive, subconscious self. These are the "should I or shouldn't I" discussions in our heads. According to the authors, the most important thing to understand in negotiating with yourself is to continue to pay attention to both sides of your brain. Wish I hadn't wasted my money

I first listened to the actual Good to Great book on CDs in my car and wanted a written summary to review some points -- but buying this one was a huge mistake. It appears this summary was written by a non-native English speaker, and not proofread. Even the name of the author is misspelled. On page three it says, "The trademarks are used without consent." No address or other contact information is provided for Elite Summaries, the summary's publisher. I've never before given such a low review (one star) but clearly this time it's in order. I let Amazon know my concerns and was pleased with their response (which was prompt and helpful).

Very good content...

This book has very good content but is horrible as as audio book due to having to listen to five minute long code descriptions including curly braces and tabs.

I honestly could have gotten so much from just being able to listen to Java concepts over and over but the code description made it unbearable so I will have to go out and buy the book also even though I hate reading.

Meaty Java Book

I bought the first book in this series, so I knew what to expect. This book has a lot of detail. The author does a great job explaining the functions of Java and following up with examples. Listen with a pencil and notebook handy for the code!

It was fine until the narrator started reading through each line of code...it should just refer people to the book of they need to see specific lines.

Great read and so informative!

Not only was this inspirational! I love Sean's laid back approach to narrating. Maybe it's because he has his own podcast as well, but his narration is on point! And his book made me feel more empowered and oriented to taking action. I especially like how he shows us his own life examples to give you actionable steps.
