    a great book
I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book and am looking forward to more adventures of the main character. This book is set in France and the narrator, rather than using what can sometimes be irritating spoken English with an French accent, uses regional English accents to great effect to differentiate between the characters and the sub culture from which they originate.
    FANTASTIC
If you liked Da Vinci Code you'll love this. Mario Rending has written a brilliant story here. I loved it from the start, kept me listening right to the end and wanting more. Gareth Armstrong (the narrator) is absolutely amazing, you could be led to thinking it was more than one person reading.
    Loved it
I am a man of few words, Have been to most places in the book loved the storyline loved the plot, Fantastic was intrested all the way to the end.
    Very good

    A book I enjoyed reading
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I could not put it down it was filled with so much humor. I gave it five stars because it was well written, had humor with an outlandish story.
I was not thrilled with the romance as it seemed unlikely that a STAR would want to marry a lowly police. I do not give the marriage top rating. On the other hand, many of the characters were so strange (and some seemed stupid) that I chuckled through the parts where the characters met. I would recommend this book to others, as a matter of fact, I bought two copies and gave one to a friend.

My favorite novelist of all time
Sanders does it again. My favorite novelist of all time is a master at his craft, a great entertainer, a mesmerizing story teller, witty, observant, a timeless joy to read.
    Lawrence Sanders at his best
Lawrence Sanders has written one of his best books. The story involves a Hollywood movie actress (Marilyn Taylor) who agrees to a laparoscopy of her eggs so she can provide in vitro fertilization for her best friend. The eggs get stolen and that is when the fun starts. The eggs are stolen by half a dozen people -- a crazy fan, the LA and Chicago Mafia, a sleezy movie producer, a professional thief and his Asian "friend" and a washed-up movie actor. The NYPD assign an officer to handle the case only to become romantically entwined with Marilyn Taylor. Sanders creates a great story with lots of twists and turns and plenty of excitement. This book was funny and enjoyable to read.
a lot sillier than you might think
This book features a madcap adventure of stolen human eggs, with multiple gangsters, actors, deranged fans, a philosophical priest, and CIA agents across the globe. The adventure is funny, but the romance between the spoiled actress and the police officer is too difficult to believe.

    Sparks Again....
This book, in typical Sparks fashion, was delightful to listen too. I was home rccovering from eye surg. I had begun reading this latest Sparks book just before surgery. I have read every Sparks book previous to this one and enjoyed every one. This story touched my heart this holiday season and I appreciate its great message of love, family and faith in self and family through changing & difficult times.
    Average
I love Nicholas Sparks, but I find that on occasion he can be overly predictable. Some of his novels have little to no plot, and this was one of those. I still enjoyed the book, but it was kind of boring; one that I could put down.
Nice clean book for young people in love.
The author was able to tell the story in an organized and understandable fashion. It is a little predictable due to the nature of the story but it kept my interest and it was easy listening. I am older but recommend it to those who are tired of negative, destructive and stressfilled books. I liked it and recommend it to others. It was relaxing. It had a good ending.

Good narration but the story has no purpose
Good narration but the story has no purpose and too much negativity. There is no ending as well
    yikes, it could be Sidney
This could be Sidney Sheldon's writing. I was so sorry when there were no more books from Sidney Sheldon (for obvious reasons) but Tilly Bradshaw is pretty much as good. These stories are not feel good happyily ever after types so I can't listen to more than one in a row, having said that, I listen to a couple fluff pieces and then head right back to Tilly's writing. Well written and read.

    I loved this sequel
My only criticism is I would rather a narrator didn't use an accent unless they have it off to a fine art. Otherwise beautifully read

For young adults and all ages
This reads like a very good young adult book, and its historical relevancy feels accurate. You'll find a lot to like here, including the four boys and their antics, and personalities, that will remind you of the movie "Stand by Me." There are some formatting problems but readers won't find them too distracting. There were a few times the action felt hurried, but I found it overall very solid, if a little predictable. You are, of course aware that the troubled kid Ian grows into the Admiral in the beginning of the book, but you will enjoy watching him mature. There is sadness but out of that comes joy and recognition that life goes as it's meant to go, even though we don't know it at the time. There are a lot of moments that will make you cheer. Read on! This is good sound reading for all ages.
my mind keeps coming back to this story
I read an awful lot, and most stories are enjoyable while I read but don't really haunt me like this one does. Can't remember the style, or the foul words or the other things -just the story. I loved it. I keep wanting to find my copy and read it again. Ackerman's ability to transcend his pain is powerful, as is his ability to plant a seed and not need to see it grow and bloom.
This story mesmerizes the reader and bridges generations.
I have never been to summer camp, never been a juvenile delinquent, and never been to war. But I have been young and confused, I have developed unlikely friendships, I have had mentors, and I have loved a dog. There are so many components to this story that reached to my heart and held my attention. I related to things I have never experienced. This is a book I took with me in the car to have available for stolen moments between appointments. The premise of this story is believable, the characters are engaging, the the message is hopeful, and the presentation is entertaining. I finished this book with great regret, wishing the story could continue. This book is about relationships, about events that shape our lives, and about the common, ordinary events we experience that turn out to be what matter most in life.
Valliant effort, but falls way short
Sorry- I really found the writing style to be way short of literary quality. I'm uncomfortable about writing a negative review, but some sections were just too short of credible. They just lacked the authors insight into what I consider the natural way of things.. I guess we just don't see eye to eye. That's my opinion...

    Passionate Times
I have read most of Emma Blair's books but I must say that this audiobook to me is one the best to date. I could not believe how compelling it was to be looking forward to listening to another chapter to find out what was going to happen next. The twists and turns plus the plausibility of the charactors in the story were wonderful. The passion, anger, frustration, disappointment, torment and happiness were so beautifully written it made this audiobook so difficult to switch off. To me Emma Blair just gets better and better.

    Publisher: Bolinda Publishing Pty Ltd

    Genres: Fiction, Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
When Greer Gordon met Mischa Svoboda, a driven Czech-born refugee painter, he was unknown. His debut at the small art gallery where she worked created a sensation, and their explosive love affair caused Greer to abandon her husband and career and embark on a nomadic life with Mischa.
Twenty-five years later, Tony, a young art critic who is researching a biography of Mischa, arrives in the small Italian hilltop community where Greer and Mischa now live. Greer is consumed by anxiety, fearing the biographer may have unearthed the secret she had always intended to write out of her life story.
A gripping cat-and-mouse game plays out, and with it the growing suspicion that Tony may be manipulating a dramatic outcome on which to build his career. Beautifully narrated, Virginia Duigan's intimate and enthralling portrait of the relationship between an artist and his lover will have listeners examining how their own biographies might be written, for who amongst us truly has nothing to hide?
    Editorial Reviews:
In a calm, smooth Australian accent, actress Julie Nihill takes the listener straight into a diary entry recording a meeting with a man "on the right side of unique". Soon, Nihill will flip the lights and reveal the larger scene: a hilltop community in Italy where Greer Gordon, expat, lives with her lover, a Czech artist named Mischa Svoboda, a man for whom she severed all her contacts - including her husband - 25 years ago.
Virginia Duigan specializes in novels written in the minor key, complete with lush details, remote settings, and mysterious human hearts. Thankfully, she strings the listener along with plot twists. Performer Nihill does a serviceable job, though non-Aussie accents are not her specialty.
    Critic Reviews:
"Her vocabulary is adroitly chosen, her sentences beautifully balanced, her minor characters vividy sketched." (Australian Book Review)
    Members Reviews:
    The lives of the obsessed
Virginia Duigan's lovely prose and vivid expression carried me through the lives of this small group of old school creatives for whom art means obsession and self-focus and love means all or nothing. Her scheming characters left me feeling little joy, but I was drawn into their world by Duigan's skilful handling of the story as it unfolds. The central theme - of the biographer as both an observer and alchemist in the lives of those he or she portrays --is a fascinating one. The end was a satisfying one, but I wanted to like these troubled, intense group of artists much more than I did.
