    Four Stars
Great story again by Bradford !!
Say it ain't so, Barbara Taylor Bradford
So sorry that the author who gave us Emma Harte and family presented so uninteresting and shallow characters in her eagerly awaited new novel. I found myself asking "why am I bothering?" There was no point where I really cared what happened next- which to me should not be something to think about when reading such an established writer. Disappointed at best, questionable at least. Whatever happened?

    Excellent medical mystery novel!
Physician Michael Palmer is a long time writer of medical mystery novels. Miracle Cure was written 17 years ago and I'm pleased that it is now available in audiobook format. The long time criticism that all of Palmer's books tend to follow the same formula is valid for Miracle Cure, but it detracts little from this well written novel. The themes of the novel are (1) a physician who makes a major mistake can be redeemed and (2) drug studies can be rather easily manipulated.
Having Ron McLardy narrate Miracle Cure is a treat.
    Great Book
If you are into medical books you will like this. Lots of action. I always like every Michael Palmer book I have read and this did not disappoint. Narrator did a great job which helps so much when listening to a book. I am just sorry that Michael has passed because he was such a good author.
    Another great one!
I absolutely loves this book! Full of suspense, mystery, love and loss. This was a very nice reminder to never give up and to do what you know is right.

    Just not my thing...
Ok call me clueless, but when I bought this, I didnt realize we were dealing with vampires. Had I known that, I probably would not have bought it. But they were interesting stories & I listened through the vampires just werent my thing. I also felt like since it was two stories that were 4-5 hours each, they were short and they werent that well developed. The first story, I had a little trouble being moved by the characters. I liked the second story better but it had a lot of action up front, and was slow on the back end. I think I just prefer longer stories because the character development is better.
The narration was all right. Scottish brogues are hard to master and I admit I am picky about that as well as male voices. But Vine did an adequate job and I didnt find the narration too distracting.
If I caught a similar book on an Audible sale for $5 or less, I probably would give it another shot. Otherwise, I dont think I would buy such a book again mostly due to my personal preferences.
Duet Books by Hannah Howell and Lynsay Sands
What did you love best about Highland Thirst?
I loved the way the book starts out as the two cousins together and lead off to separate stories but come back together at the end to complete the story of both cousins together. Hannah Howell and Lynsay Sands' writings are so outstanding that they keep you entertained from the first word to the last and wishing for more.
What did you like best about this story?
I absolutely love this series of Paranormal books. It is set in the Scottish Highlands and a clan of "Outsiders." There are several wonderful story lines and you can put them in somewhat of a Chronological order but you don't have to read them or listen to them in any order. They are not all duet books by these two authors, both have written with other authors and have used the Outsiders.

They said why they was looking at the. That on the dance floor. I like how they come together, Love one another. One of my favorite book. By BRENDA JACKSON. She is wonderful Writing, GOD BLESSED IN SPECIAL WAY! Like the end of the story.
    Inseparable
I love the book . It made me feel like I was there. I can't wait for the movies.
    stilted dialogue
I love Beverley Jenkins and her stories. My first AA romance was Clayton and Syneda's story when I was in high school and I've been hooked, but this narrator leaves much to be desired. His reading is smooth but when it comes to the characters dialogue, his speech becomes stilted, (think William Shatner parodies) and sometimes uncomfortable to listen too. It's not the first time I've noticed it, but I was hoping it was a weird quirk in the last novel I listened too but he did it again. I will be avoiding this narrator from now on if I can help it.
A Mystery and A Love Story
I really enjoyed this one. It heightened my curiosity. I rooted for the heroine and hero but knew the obvious was coming...Enjoyed listening to the narration.

    Publisher: Random House Audio
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 114 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
A beguiling debut novel about the stories we tell ourselves to survive, the scars that never fade, and the things we choose to call the truth.
Noa P. Singleton speaks not a word in her own defense throughout a brief trial that ends with a jury finding her guilty of first-degree murder. Ten years later, a woman who will never know middle age, she sits on death row in a maximum security penitentiary, just six months away from her execution date.
Seemingly out of the blue, she is visited by Marlene Dixon, a high-powered Philadelphia attorney who is also the heartbroken mother of the woman Noa was imprisoned for killing. She tells Noa that she has changed her mind about the death penalty and Noas sentence, and will do everything in her considerable power to convince the governor to commute the sentence to life in prison - if Noa will finally reveal what led her to commit her crime.
Noa and Marlene become inextricably linked through the law, shared sentiments of guilt, and irreversible mistakes in an unapologetic tale of love, anguish, and deception that is as unpredictable as it is magnificently original.
    Critic Reviews:
"In this grippingly off-kilter thriller, a young woman sits on death row after being convicted of murder until a high-powered attorney the victims mother intervenes, leaving everyone to wonder why." (O, The Oprah Magazine)
"Silver has written a darkly witty, acerbic jigsaw puzzle of a first novel about legal versus moral culpability[and] explores convolutions of guilt and innocence beyond the laws narrow scope with a sharpness and attention to detail that can be unnerving but demands attention." (Kirkus)
"Vividly written debut novel...Silver definitely delivers a thought-provoking examination of the criminal-justice system, providing a clear-eyed view of the artificial theatrics that dominate criminal trials and a heartfelt look at both grief and remorse. An intriguing debut from a writer to watch." (Booklist)

Sorry, but not the next "Gone Girl"
Theres no question the book is compelling but to be truthful the readers (they are to be praised for a magnificent read. They made us hate all the characters so much that we just had to know what motivated them) saved it from failure. The moral ambiguities that the story brings out are worthwhile to discuss, ie. Is the death penalty moral? but the story doesnt do it justice. The author definitely succeeded in forcing me to finish to find out what really happened but I felt (dont want a spoiler here) the ending was somewhat non-believable. Dont get me wrong, I really enjoyed the book but it was no, Gone Girl. When I finished the book, I realized that I didnt believe any of the characters even though I knew them well. Was this Ms. Silvers intent? I dont think so. I think it is just a case of a first novel lack of depth. I know its not fair to compare but when I read a book like this (here I mean the authors linguistic gymnastics), Im forced to think of a book like American Pastoral. After all, we have to set the bar somewhere. When I think of the characters in Noa P, they are so anemic and thinly drawn that they disappear almost as quickly as the earplugs are out. During a talk to librarians on Youtube, Ms.

    NEW FAVORITE !!!!
Wow! I was sucked in immediately!
The book is filled with endless twist and turns, and so many different things happen. Yet they all tie into the story line perfectly. I remember looking at the time left on the book a few different times and thought, "Wow....what else could possiably happen ? Or. What could Tucker possiably do to fill the the next 3/4s of this book with?"
It never got boring, it was none stop ride!
The whole thing was great! I also, often thought how very real these events and characters were.
And the narrator really was the whip cream and cherry on top of it all! She didn't seem like she was trying to hard. She was consistent with the different voices. And she had the appropriate emotions and tones.
I don't easily give out five stars.....but this was worth every single one!
One of my Favorite Books this year!
This book was beautifully written. I was enthralled from the start and never expecting to be a blubbering idiot by the end. I don't like to give spoilers with my reviews so all I need to say is that I don't highly recommend a book often.....until now!!
I loved this book . A great book of healing.
A great story for anyone that has had trauma or struggle in there life .
    Awful to eh...
    Any additional comments?
This book went from a painful listening experience to a decent ending. I feel like the author spent more time describing sex than she did on character development. It was all cliche and a little too 50 Shades for my taste.
Amazing story of healing and redemption
Would you consider the audio edition of Ten Tiny Breaths to be better than the print version?
Yes. I probably wouldn't have read it otherwise because I don't have the time, and the narrator was perfect!
What other book might you compare Ten Tiny Breaths to and why?
The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher - both have troubled but likeable protagonists that have a certain badass quality to them. Their relationships with romantic interests provide opportunities for growth and healing. And they also have great, supportive best friends - Cammie in The Opportunist, and Storm in Ten Tiny Breaths.

    Publisher: Hachette Audio UK
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 547 votes
    Genres: Fiction, Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
When a troubled model falls to her death from a snow-covered Mayfair balcony, it is assumed that she has committed suicide. However, her brother has his doubts, and calls in private investigator Cormoran Strike to look into the case. Strike is a war veteran - wounded both physically and psychologically - and his life is in disarray. The case gives him a financial lifeline, but it comes at a personal cost: the more he delves into the young model's complex world, the darker things get - and the closer he gets to terrible danger
A gripping, elegant mystery steeped in the atmosphere of London - from the hushed streets of Mayfair to the backstreet pubs of the East End to the bustle of Soho - The Cuckoo's Calling is a remarkable book. Introducing Cormoran Strike, this is a classic crime novel in the tradition of P. D. James and Ruth Rendell, and marks the beginning of a unique series of mysteries.
Robert Glenister has performed with both the National Theatre and the RSC. He has worked extensively on radio and television and is probably best known for his roles as Ash Morgan in the BBC's Hustle and as the Home Secretary in 5 series of Spooks.
    Critic Reviews:
"The Cuckoo's Calling reminds me why I fell in love with crime fiction in the first place." (Val McDermid)
"One of the most unique and compelling detectives I've come across in years" (Mark Billingham)
"One of the best crime novels I have ever read." (Alex Gray)
    Members Reviews:
Hopefully this is the first of a series
Surely the sign of a really good book is when the last words have been spoken and listeners find themselves disappointed at having been abruptly separated from people and events that have been a real part of their lives (in this case for nearly16 hours). Well, if that is the case then this qualifies as a Really Good Book -- it ticks all the boxes.
The narrator: great voice, acted out the roles very convincingly (change of accents and voices very well done) and, best of all, didn't differentiate male and females voices through changing pitch. The writing was vivid. Elegant and succinct prose endowed each sentence an energy which created settings and personal characteristics.
While this was a crime mystery, that was only part of it. In fact, despite the urgency of the plot, for me the people became the most interesting aspect because The Cuckoo's Calling (clever title) was also the story of the lives of many individuals. Cormoran Strike, for example, is the detective, but he has his own compelling story which entwines throughout the central plot. I found myself caring about his well-being along with the decisions that Robyn will make about her life direction, and I was also repelled by, or drawn to the many other characters that moved in and out of my life through this book.
I had not read any of J K Rowling (Robert Galbraith) before but this book demonstrates what a talented writer she is and why she has been so very successful. I hope this is the beginning of a series.
    Really pleasing mystery
I hope that JK Rowling's outing as the author of this novel doesn't discourage her from publishing any followups, because I really enjoyed it.
    The style is very paced.

    Sweet and innocent
    Any additional comments?
Sweet... maybe a little too sweet. The ending was predictable midway through the book but I still listened to the end. The writing is pretty good and the story is quite slow paced but is in keeping with the Amish lifestyle.
If your looking for action and adventure... this isn't the book for you. However... if your in the mood for relaxing and innocence then it's perfect.
I did enjoy the book, in spite of the drawn out innocence and nativity of the main character.
Wow, what a surprise! I really enjoyed the twist!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Definitely if they were mystery readers. It was a fun ride to read about the Amish and the mystery tied to a love story. I would love to see a sequel/continuation of the story.
What other book might you compare Fall from Pride to and why?
I really can't say because I don't read mysteries normally, I like to read stories of the Amish and I took a chance with this book. It was very good.
    Which scene was your favorite?
I don't want to give the story away, but the entire book was excellent.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several places that were very moving. Again, I don't want to give anything away to a new reader, but the book is worth reading.
    Any additional comments?
I hope to see a sequel. Ms. Harper you have a 5 star from me! Thank you for a good book.
    Love Karen Harper Books!
Would you listen to Fall from Pride again? Why?
Probably not. Too many other good books and not enough time
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    Who has time for that
    Any additional comments?
I'm so happy Audible is carrying More Karen Harper books. She's one of my favorite authors. She puts just enough mystery and excitement in a book that I can still listen to before I go to bed without worrying about nightmares. But enough to keep me interested and want to keep listening and looking forward to her next book.
    Gripping Mystery and love story
I enjoyed this story from beginning to end!! Gripping mystery and love story, highly recommended!
What a Great tale of the Amish culture.
I liked hearing about the values of the Amish and the love of neighbors.
