Maybe a Safer Bet to Hire a Narrator
"A Holiday Bet" was a cute story and with it being under three hours long, I think it was edited just fine but the narration was almost too distracting. To give an honest review I have to say that perhaps it would be a good idea to go with a narrator. They usually have their own audio equipment.
I applaud the author Giselle Lumas for her work. She wrote this story, it's clearly edited, it just needed a narrator. This is a great start though.

    A fun holiday listen!
--I was given this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This was a happy, short listen. Claire has made a bet with her co-workers that she can get her boss, Sarah fixed up on a date and a kiss with her brother, Jeremy. After a few crazy schemes with her car, Jeremy and Sarah are dating. Sarah at the same time is now getting to know her 8 year old twin nieces and is beginning to see there is more to life than work. Over the next couple of weeks, the bet goes on, changes a little and things progress. Christmas Eve is a nice touch at the end.
The only thing that was a little distracting was the narrator. I applaud Giselle Lumas for narrating her own book, but the flow is not automatic, and her voices are not as apparent between characters. I think if it had been done by a narrating actor, the book would have been an easier listen.

This is a cute novel of romance, trickery, and good humor. I enjoyed it very much.
I Loved Other Book By Lumas But This One Missed
Read the publisher summary listed below. It is such a short book that I don't feel I can add to it without spoiling. It is cute and rather predictable.

    Dead Again...Again
Wow. What a read. If you do believe in reincarnation, then it will ring true (and I do). If you don't, it will make you wonder.
The character development is phenomenal. You really like and pull for Jenny and Brett. It's a meeting of soulmates. It's something we all hope find to in our lives. (I have mine, I hope you have yours). The side characters are quite interesting - Maude, Kay and Grace have decent enough development. Especially Maude. But the one character you will truly love is a 6-year old boy named Jeff who comes in at the end of the book. Absolutely amazing.
The book was suspenseful all along, but towards the end it 3 MAJOR twists that I didn't see coming, and I read tons of paranormal.
    ***SPOILER***
Trust me, there is a well deserved happy ending to this book. Don't be one of those people who reads the last page first - like I am. One of those twists comes on the last page and you won't be able to truly appreciate it until you read the whole book.
    5.5 stars
    I loved this book
At one point I had a copy of this book, but in a series of moves I lost it. Thank God I found a copy here. I loved this book. It was one of the that you are hooked from the first page.
    Great Book,Great author.
The characters are all good and the suspense generated was awesome. I did not have are idea what was going to happen next. She writes a great book. You can't go wrong reading her books.
    My heart
Was a good book . Well bwritten would read again very good goog good good no no no no no
    Wonderful story!
Finally an author who gets reincarnation right! I love reading romances with a reincarnation theme, but too often the authors get so much of it wrong. Not Hudson. She has her facts straight and it makes the book even stronger.
The heroine has been having dreams all her life, dreams that leave her waking up with blood on her body and no explanation for it. Then as an adult, she reads a best selling novel and it's her dream. She goes to a book signing to talk to the author, but the line is long. Instead, as the hero walks by her, she slips him a note. One that straightens out some facts he had wrong in his book.
The hero is intrigued that she knows what he meant to write. They get together and the attraction is immediate. But he doesn't believe in past lives. Not until he has no choice. Because while the woman he loved reincarnated with him into another life, so did the enemy that killed them both.
This book has a great romance, great characters and an engaging story. It's not perfect, but it's the best reincarnation romance I've read.

    Sex and fun
I first read this book when I was a teenager and feel in love with this book, the Temptation line, and Tiffany White! The Temptation line isn't as bold as blaze, but still plenty of sexy and if you love authors who stimulate your mind using sex and humor, Tiffany White is a can't miss author!
This is a great book about a good girl tempted to be VERY bad to get her own back from a sexy co-worker who thinks she is too reserved and prudish to be a temptation. Little does he know that this ice maiden is a smoke screen for the hot seductress inside. Synopsis from GoodReads below (which I believe is straight from the back of the book if memory serves):
    HE WAS EVERY WOMAN'S FANTASY
And to her annoyance, Amanda Butterworth found herself drooling over Kyle Fox, too. Not that she'd let him see that. They were cohosting a TV show --- she didn't intend to partner him in any other activity. Especially not when the man considered her a prude, both on and off the air. Amanda considered him dangerous, with his lean, mean body, his sexy slouch and his lustful looks. But uptight she wasn't and she was ready to prove it.
What better way than with naughty suggestions by mail, naughty enough to drive him wild? No doubt he was used to making all the moves with women, but even the great Kyle Fox might appreciate being outrageously seduced himself ...
    Play Acting
Another fun entertaining romance by Tiffany White! Unlike most romance books, this is one of those books you'll want to keep in your collection to read over and over again.
    How fantacies come true...
Tiffany White's use of mental stimulation does it again with this fantastic story. The leading lady finds herself tempted by one of TV's hottest, but most bullheaded men. Using fantacies to play his game, a wonderful story developes through the use of tantalizing conversation. Another delicious story from Tiffany White, and as always, I recomend it highly!

    New Beginnings
If you are looking for something to read while you are soaking up some sun ok keeping cool in front of the AC then this is the book for you.
Ms Dawes has a talent for creating characters that you begin to feel that you know and that they could be your friends and neighbors. They face challenges, ups and downs just like the rest of us.
Bridget Lawson has returned to Willow Creek after eight years on the rodeo circle. She has spent that time fighting her own demons. Now she is back to start a new life. Unfortunately when you have grown up in a small town everyone remembers your history and are not always kindly. And suddenly there right in front of her is the cause of her pain, Tom Browdy.
In her own special way, Ms Dawes has created a tale of two people trying to deal with their pasts and figure out their futures.
I love a book where I can get caught up in the lives of the characters and be able to relate to their problems. This is one of those books.
I am a great fan or Ms Dawes books and always look forward to the next one. Give Love on Willow Creek and you also will be waiting eagerly for book 2.
I also love the care Bridget takes with her student Amanda and ...
Trust issues and forgiveness of ones self and others is touched on gently in this short story. Casey Dawes hits the nail on the head when it comes to those two subjects and I found her two prime characters very captivating. When Bridget has a hard time getting a business loan, I had to sympathize with her. I've been there, done that. I also love the care Bridget takes with her student Amanda and the horses. She is an incredibly brave woman. I'd recommend this story for its heart-felt gentleness.
    Small town cowgirl makes good
Hardened cowgirl Bridget has made mistakes but she's pulled herself up by her bootstraps and returned to her hometown to live the dream she abandoned in high school. Unfortunately, some things in Willow Creek never change - like the boy she fell in love with and the woman she lost him to. Casey Dawes creates a heroine who has fallen and managed to pick herself up without help from anyone.

Sex, love, and forgiveness - can they coexist, and can romance author Sarah write them into her life? Although best-selling author Sarah OMalley is sure her next erotic-romance novel will be another hit, she finds it near to impossible to replicate the same results in her personal life. At 45 years old, Sarah now finds herself divorced and a single mother of two. Sarah journeys back to her childhood home to nurse her mother who is suffering from Alzheimers, and she inevitably encounters the ghosts of her past - the death of a child, its devastating effect on family relations, youthful sexual exploration, and an unplanned pregnancy. However, the haunts of the past open up a whole new world to Sarah as she learns to forgive the traumas that had happened before. Amid a great awakening, Sarah also comes to terms with being a sexually active middle-aged woman, and begins to accept sex again, even in the most inappropriate but titillating circumstances. As she unlocks her own physical desires, she also stumbles upon a heavy secret that her mother had been hiding from her for the past 50 years. This trip might prove to be a better story than anything Sarah could have possibly hoped to write.

Edwards book is a sexy read which is fun and entertaining
Edwards book is a sexy read which is fun and entertaining.but it is also a keen portrayal of the awakening of awareness of middle age, the reality of losing a parent, the growing pains of reinventing ourselves post divorce and coming to grips with the person behind the parent.
At some point we all come to recognize our parents as people, with lives very different then our childhood, narcissistic perceptions. In Edwards' novel there is an elegant twist that affords a satisfying closure to the family angst.
This first novel is a window that promises an intricate future. The final chapters are the shocking twist that satisfy..
The graceful story line is accompanied by a bawdy character reveal, which makes an amusing and very unique combination.
I look forward to future novels from this fine writer!
I really enjoyed reading this author's first book
I really enjoyed reading this author's first book. "When Angels Cry" fits neatly into two popular genres, the first person romance novel as well as the suspense novel. The premise of a successful romance author who returns home to care for her ailing mother was intriguing, especially when the reader is brought into a family drama that may or may not be what it seems. It was an easy read, but it wasn't simplistic at all. Ms. Edwards cleverly wraps the threads of the story one way, and then, unexpectedly gives them a surprising twist. I didn't plan to read this in one sitting, all one afternoon late into the night, but that is what happened. I kept wanting to read "just one more chapter". "When Angels Cry" was a fun read, that was light but thoroughly engrossing entertainment. I hope Ms. Edwards continues to write, perhaps even developing a reoccurring character for a book series. I'd recommend this book to my friends.
I believed I was reading about real people
This book did for me what good books do: it made me feel that I was reading about real people and that I was in their world. I could not put it down and I did not want it to end!
I had to smile at Ms.

    A sweet and sexy read
This was such a sweet story, from the beginning till the very end. There were some sexy times though, which were oh so HOT. I gotta say, I think I have found my next book boyfriend lol. It was nice listening to a softer, sweeter narration from Kai. I absolutely loved it.
A very sweet and heart warming story
What made the experience of listening to Turnaround the most enjoyable?
    It was very heart warming.
Which character as performed by Kai Kennicott was your favorite?
I loved both Becca and James equally. I just loved the type of character James is. He works a second job to help his mom.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and I did. In fact I've already listened to it again.

What I really love about this book as they took they time to really get to know each other prior to adding the physical aspect. A great build up of sexual tension that you know is leading to something much deeper in a relationship.
I really was disappointed when the story ended. I really wanted more of Becca and James.

    Yes It Was
This is the wonderful start of what put the original twinkle in my eye with this series. Every book though in this series can be read as a stand alone. I did though start with this one first and this is also my first time in reading this author. Tegan is the delightful character you meet in this novel along with three other women who are her friends. But in this one you get to learn first hand more about her and also how the love list is started. She is a owner of a wine shop that is also where her and her friends meet for a book club that soon changes to something else. They each put a name of a guy they think their friends would not be adverse to dating and they choose a name. Teagan get Richard but thanks to what happens when she goes to meet him plans have a way of changing. Who she actually starts to go out with (kinda under pressure thanks to needing a date for a function) will be really the right course for her. August is so much more delicious with more than being good to the last drop. She also finds out the near horror she would of been experiencing had she gone out with Richard but sometimes refusal of passes to some guys thinks that gives them license to be ultra jerk of the year. She also learns though how first impressions are not always the total story as the cause in point with August will be. Enjoyable ride with these two as you go along with them in this growing relationship that will experience a big bump in the road but has a happy ending.
    Sweet fun quick read
This is a sweet story the is part of a four book series. Four friends started a singles group that after she time became the Love list/book club ( that never really read the books). One afternoon after a little wine, Tegan proposed that they official start the love list. She explained to them and they all went for it. Book one is focused on Tegan and her pick, she drew Richard. When she got to the winery she discovered Richard was a jerk, but August who helped her was interested in taking her, she declined and left. Having the event coming up her well meaning parents were back in town and back at trying to set her up. To keep her dad for setting her up again she blurted out that already had a date with August. Now she just needed to let him know. August was a gentleman and told her he meant what he said he would be honored. Will August be a good fit for her or will she end up staying single. This was a short book about 70 pages, so it is a nice quick read. The perfect book for when yo want to read, but don't have a lot of time for a full length novel
    A Sliver of Chocolate.....Sooo Good!
What a fun and fittingly named sweet story! This is an enticing start to what promises to be the beginning of an entertaining series.

I think I have fallen for Jack
Would you listen to Going Pecans again? Why?
Yes I would. It is short enough to enjoy in a single sitting but with enough involved in it to keep you enthralled.
What did you like best about this story?
I grinned and laughed and completely fell in love with Jack. I had enjoyed him in the second book but in Going Pecans it was like meeting him for the first time. I heard myself going why can't I have a man who flirts with me/ looks after me / treats me like that and I am very happily married. From this book I have a whole scenario of what Jack looks like and how he behaves. I am a bit of a Lauren fan too and she fits into the Imagery I have going in my mind.
    Which scene was your favorite?
When Jack and Lauren first meet at the Pecan farm.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
See above to what I like best.
    Any additional comments?
The writing in this book is clear, creates the scene well and builds the relationships between the characters and the audience. From the first page the text is easy to relate to and I found hard to put down. I didn't get bored with the storyline and found it kept up a good pace to keep the reader / listener engaged.
I had already read the second book in the series so I was familiar with characters. I knew where it was all going but I had never really known where the characters had been. Having read this book I now understand them a better.
    A delightfully witty romance!
I loved this book and it made for a great Sunday (Easter dinner) read! A clean click lit romance that delivers romance to us in the sweetest way!
Grandma gives her secret recipe for her famous pecan pie to Lauren, her grand daughter with instructions that she must make this pecan pie for Thanksgiving and ONLY buy the pecans at one certain pecan farm. Grandma also did the same thing with Jack, A young man who helps take care of the elderly. It is a set up of the sweetest kind! You have to read the book to get all the details...
The author did a great job writing this book. The plot is sweet & wholesome and very romantic. I sat here listening to this book with a smile on my face. The narrator, Hollie Jackson did a great job with her multiple voices and accents too! She delivered us a flawless story full of love and energy. This book doesn't disappoint!
