Sex and the City Meets Groundhog Day

This is a fun, delightful look into a coming-of-age woman who is contemplating marriage, finding "the one", and all that that entails. It is easily relatable to all women and is written in an easy, conversational, and also seductive (at times) way that makes the read go so quick - it's hard to put down! As the title of the review mentions, this really is a cross between Sex and The City and Fifty Shades of Grey as it is humorous, fast paced and really allows the reader to step into the life of the protagonist and the dilemma she is facing, while there are many moments of sheer passion that make you weak in the knees! The characters are very relatable - so much so that reading this novel makes all of us question 'how long should we wait to have sex" and other relationship questions all over again! If you are looking for a fun, and also inspiring read that will make you think about male/female relationships in a whole different way, this is the one for you.

hilarious but great book!

This is the story of a girl, Samantha, who finds herself alone and about to turn 30. She resolves to find a man on her 30th no matter what, and what ensues is a hilarious romp through attempts to get things right. In the end, she finds out that what she thought she wanted and what she really wanted we're not the same thing and she learns that the hard (and yet very funny) way. Make sure you don't read this when the kids are sleeping or your LOLs will wake the house up.

Yes, this book provoked thoughts, where we wish we could go back in time.

Somehow, the reader is slowly nudged to also believe, half-heartedly in fate, and in the fact that nothing is as simple as it seems (or as complex).....

How often have we bent over backwards to realize an impractical dream? It definitely provokes one to take a step back, and "undo" the mistakes.

Life somehow, does not have an undo button, and it is important to realize what that means, and how you should go forward.

I liked the final message in the book, but not the convoluted route to get to that message.

Laugh out loud hilarious!

I love it when I start to read a book and start smiling immediately, then start laughing to myself, then laugh out loud. This author had the ability to describe Samantha in a endearing and neurotic way that made you love her. My favorite scene is when Samantha goes home with the man of her dreams only to get mentally distracted by his lack of door on the bathroom.

The River Journey by Robert Nathan is the story of a long married, childless couple who decide to take the trip of their lifetime. Minnie finds out that she doesn't have long to live but rather then let Henry, her husband know that she is ill sells some stocks and buys a riverboat so they can cruise along the Mississippi all the way to New Orleans. The story takes them down a river with much to see, river towns, wild animals, plants etc plus they attend a circus. There is a young girl that they meet and take along with them, only Minnie knows that the young girl, Nora is also near death, this information given to her by death in the form of an older man. The message I get from this interesting journey is to take life by the horns and live it to the fullest even if afraid because life is short and we don't know what tomorrow will bring.

Boring

I'm sorry but this book was just so boring. The hero was great but the heroine was just so vanilla. Just didn't seem like she had any personalty. I don't really know what kept the H interested in her. She was not mean, but standoffish. Nothing fun about her. The way she was described she sounded like the size of a child. There was just no WOW in this book.

Sweet

This story was a sweet romance with no angsty, no big drama. She is overachiever big city, after her mother passed away daddy groomed her to be big deals, make lots of money, no personal life. She comes back to her small hometown to help out her aunt, Who is her mother's sister, who has to have some surgery. She had fallen and broken her hip. Aunts next door neighbor is the hero who is a small town veterinarian. Aunt talks about her all the time and he announces at their first meeting he will ask her out on a date later, after her aunts surgery. She tries to resist stating that she will only be in town for a little while. Don't want to give too much away but they go back-and-forth and she decides to stay. Happily Ever After!

Fun book. No major conflicts, but a sweet story of love and dreams. ÂBrooke spent part of her life in Sweet Springs, until her mother died and father moved them to Dallas. ÂWhen her aunt needs her, Brooke drops everything to go help her. ÂWhile her aunt is in the hospital Brooke is running the florist shop and trying to take care of Humphrey, a handful of a basset hound. ÂBrooke finds herself getting plenty of help from next door neighbor Gage. ÂGage has heard a lot about Brooke and discovers that the reality is even better. Â

Brooke is dealing with her worry about her aunt, a dog that seems to have it in for her, and worry about her own future. ÂShe lost her job when he financial firm reorganized and hasn't found a new job yet. ÂShe never had a pet while growing up and Humphrey's antics have her at her wit's end. ÂShe's getting lots of help from Gage, the really nice and very good looking veterinarian who lives next door. Great story

Just boring...

If the beginning doesnt interest me enough to keep listen, well... I just can't continue. I got pretty bored right around chapter 3. Narration was ok... but story was just boring. Nothing wrong with it... just not as interesting as other similar stories.

Complete story with developing characters over 4 year period.

At first it brought memories of my youth vividly to the forefront, then it developed into wanting to know more about the lives and community. It was almost as if the emotions and a few of the experiences were pulled from my mind. Left me with a feel-good conclusion. Selfishly, however, I would have enjoyed the story to continued!

Never Stopped Loving YOu

Adorable cover.

Adorable couple.

Adorable story.

I am a sucker for all things "small town life", as well as a good man in a pair of well worn jeans, so if your preference is conference calls and business suits, this one probably won't strike your romance fancy like it did mine.

Ms. Ford introduces us to a couple with a past. Wade and Kara have to fight through the pain of the life they once had in Bella Warren in order to see if love will work for them a second time around. Wade is gentle with Kara, who is wishy-washy about what she wants from the start. As she should be, the girl has some serious baggage.

And while Ms. Ford dishes up some swoon worth and sweetly humorous romance, I found myself having a hard time relating to Kara's fight against the reputation she left behind when she sort of was an easy target for Wade. But I guess when the passion is hot, and the jam is sweet, you don't ever want to miss out on a bite.

Try it, you'll like it.

First, thank you to Keri Ford for providing me with a copy of her book in exchange for an honest review. It was my first book from her but it wonât be my last!

The author has a great way of writing her characters that I honestly feel like I know these people! She also perfectly describe the way gossip and reputation work in a small town. You canât do anything without everybody learning about it as soon as itâs done and if you do wrong once, no matter how good youâll be afterward itâs always going to define who you are for most people.

I had a hard time relating to Kara at first. I felt bad for the way she was treated by people when she first came back to town, she screwed up when she was a teenage girl but it wasnât that bad, it only blew out of proportion because it was in such a small town. At the same time she hurt Whitney, Wade and even John and never tried to make amend until she had no option but to come back to her hometown so she might not deserved the way the townsfolk were with her but she could have deserved a much harder welcome from Whitney and John.

Whitney is definitely the most likable character of the book.

Heartfelt story

Divorced Dad, Eddie Montesano, has a 7 yr old son who needs special help. His teacher, widowed Harper Kavanaugh, tells Eddie this, but his own history as a boy who was labelled and teased for his own academic shortcomings causes him to refuse the help she recommends.

How each of these wounded adults face their own pasts and acknowledged their love for each other and their children is the kind of story that evokes heartfelt aww's and the wiping away of a tear or two.

ALL of the characters from the other two books join together in this last book to help celebrate with Cole & Emily as they renew their wedding vows. Yes, there was a love story(or two) but Snowflakes & Sliver Linings was so much more than that. It was a wonderfully written story about two people who go through some an amazing transformation and learn to let go of the "past issues" and to be able to move on with their lives.

Casey & Turner both have to learn to let go of the tragedies of their past and to realize that the path that they both were taking in their lives was only going to lead to more unhappiness.

I feel that all three of these authors did a fantastic job creating this 3 book series about three friends who go through life's toughest situations together and come out even closer(& happier!)

This is charming Christmas story. The characters are likeable and you want things for them to workout.

a little action but most of story is about relationships in the past and the now.

They are gathered together to get the Gingerbread Inn opening for the Christmas Eve wedding.

Casey has had a tough life. She is a scientist. She has decided to give up on love and have a baby by herself.

Turner job is top secret. He has been asked by his friend to help and since he was in the states he agreed. His last mission went bad. He has to make some choices now. He has not been sleeping well.

Years ago Turner and Casey had spent 3 days playing together. Turner had told her that he had only the three days to give her. He was deploying then and he could not tell her. Now is the first they have seen each other since that time. They both have changed.

I smiled at quite a few scenes in the story. Their is a cute dog and little girl that touch me.

This is a quick clean romance story.

Sweet Holiday Romance

This is a very sweet romance that reminded me of why I love this genre so much. Two people who shared a spot in time that meant so much to both of them for very different reasons. Thrown together again to help friends renewing their wedding vows, that one weekend spent together long ago brings back painful memories for one and nothing but good for the other making their time together difficult to navigate but with some surprise moments for both.
