The A’s offense looked like it took a vacation—permanently. After getting steamrolled 7-0 last night, they’re now staring down a Red Sox team with momentum, desperation, and a debuting pitcher on the mound. Connelly Early, the 23-year-old lefty, gets his first taste of the majors tonight—no pressure. Meanwhile, Jeffrey Springs is trying to keep the ship afloat for the A’s, but spoiler alert: that ship looks leaky.

 Boston isn’t here to play nice. They’re still biting into the A’s, and worse, they smell blood. Last night’s blowout came complete with Garrett Crochet shutting the door, Trevor Story and Carlos Narváez launching homers, and no mercy from the bullpen. Tonight, they fire Real Money late — that’s Connelly Early on the mound, a litmus test that might go nuclear if the A’s don’t wake the hell up.
