The Kamloops Blazers have been living on a prayer the past two weeks. They capped an improbable run to the 2019 WHL Playoffs with a Tiebreaker Tuesday win over Kelowna. Blazers F Connor Zary helped power his club to the post-season with a series of clutch goals. He's the WHL "On The Run" Player of The Week. He'll be our guest.

WHL Alumni Joe Gatenby helped the University of New Brunswick capture the USports National Men's Hockey title. The former Kelowna Rocket/Kamloops Blazer recaps UNB's win over the University of Alberta and how he's taking advantage of the WHL Scholarship Program.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, features Vancouver Giants D Bowen Byram has his new WHL record. Byram scored a 6th overtime winner last weekend in Tri-City to stand alone as most overtime winners in a single season. The top prospect for the upcoming 2019 NHL Entry Draft will talk about his prowess in extra time this season and the upcoming NHL Draft.

The WHL has announced record breaking numbers for the 2018-19 academic year with the WHL Scholarship Program. It's also now surpassed $25 million dollars in funding going back to the 1993-94 academic year. WHL Director of Operations and Manager of Education Services Greg Gardner will join us to discuss the new numbers and talk more about the program.

Finally, Red Deer Rebels Owner/President/GM/Coach Brent Sutter recently hit a WHL coaching milestone with his 500th win. He'll discuss his run behind the Rebels bench.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, hears from Everett Silvertips Head Coach Dennis Williams on a 3rd straight US Division title. The Silvertips clinched earlier this week and now have their sights set on finishing 1st in the Western Conference.

Lethbridge Hurricanes F Jake Elmer is on a big roll right now. He has scored in 13 straight games as the Lethbridge Hurricanes clinched a spot in the 2019 WHL Playoffs. He's the WHL "On The Run" Player of the Week and will be our guest.

Finally, The The 2019 USPORTS Men's Hockey Championship opens in Lethbridge next week. The University of Alberta Golden Bears head to the tournament as Canada West champions. It'll be a third straight national championship appearance for former Kootenay Ice and Red Deer Rebels F Luke Philp. The Canada West Player of the Year will wrap up this week's show.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, features the Saskatoon Blades as they make their return to the WHL post-season for the first time since 2012. 1st year Head Coach Mitch Love is our guest as he looks to finish the season strong heading into the 2019 WHL Playoffs.

The Vancouver Giants have come from the bottom the last few years to a 6th BC Division banner. Hear from the Giants as they head into the playoffs. Former WHL Kamloops Blazer Shane Doan received the ultimate honour this week in Glendale, AZ. The 21 year NHL veteran had his jersey retired by the Arizona Coyotes. We'll take you to that ceremony.

Finally, Moose Jaw Warriors rookie Brayden Tracey has been named both the WHL "On The Run" and CHL Player of the Week. He's having a great season with the Warriors. He'll talk about his quick rise in the WHL to close out the show.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, looks back on Portland Winterhawks F Joachim Blichfeld big weekend. Back-to-back hat tricks has powered the Dane past the 50 goal milestone. He enters the weekend leading the WHL in goals (51) and points (102).

Former Red Deer Rebel Colby Armstrong has found his niche after hockey. Now a personality with Rogers Sportsnet, he'll look back on his time in Red Deer and his new career as a TV broadcaster.

Lethbridge Hurricanes F Logan Barlage is excelling off the ice. He's in the WHL's Academic Spotlight. He'll join us to talk about balancing hockey and schoolwork. Wrapping up the show, Brandon Wheat Kings F Stelio Mattheos is the WHL "On The Run" Player of the Week. He has the Wheat Kings right back in the playoff mix thanks to nine points and three victories.

WHL This Week - Radio Edition, focuses on two award winners from the past week. Medicine Hat G Mads Soogard earned both the WHL Eli Wilson Goaltending Goaltender of the Week award and the CHL honour as well. Ranked 3rd amongst NA Goaltenders according to NHL Central Scouting, Soogard led the Tigers through a productive three-game US Division swing.

The Prince Albert Raiders continue to roll along - recently earning Head Coach Marc Habscheid his 500th WHL coaching victory. Cole Fonstad picked up the WHL "On The Run" Player of the Week award. He'll be our guest.

78 WHL prospects will represent their province at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer. We'll take a closer look.

The WHL is again planning to head south this spring for the WHL's 14th annual U.S. Prospects Camp in California. WHL Manger of Player Development Zach Hodder has more details. Finally, former Moose Jaw Warriors G Zach Sawchenko is flourishing as the start for the University of Alberta Golden Bears. He's been named the WHL Canada West Graduate of the Month, and he'll close out the show.

NHL Central Scouting has released it's mid-term ranking for the upcoming 2019 NHL Entry Draft in Vancouver. The WHL had 48 players crack the rankings including nine in the top 31 among North American skaters. We'll have a look at the list.
