Romans 6:12 challenges believers to consider who or what is truly in control of their lives. After explaining the new life believers have in Christ, Paul issues a warning: don't allow sin to take the throne of your heart. While sin no longer has the ultimate power it once did over those who belong to Jesus, it still seeks to influence our thoughts, desires, and decisions.
