Affirmations are positive statements that can help to change your mindset and beliefs about yourself. When you repeat affirmations, they can help to increase your self-confidence and motivation, and can also be helpful in managing stress and anxiety. Although some people may dismiss affirmations as “wishful thinking,” there is actually a lot of science to back up their effectiveness.

One reason why affirmations are effective is because of the way they affect your brain. When you say an affirmation, it activates the area of your brain responsible for processing positive information. This then helps to change your overall mindset, and can even influence your behavior.

In one study, participants who were asked to repeat affirmations before a job interview performed better than those who didn’t. The affirmations helped the participants to feel more confident and prepared, which led to them doing better in the interview.
