This week Dave excels himself for sheer WWYTMTness by explaining just why der Fuhrer had the details of your local Maxol. He has enlisted the help of Dr Joseph Quinn of Oxford University to explain Operation Green, the Nazi invasion plan of Ireland.
If that doesn’t whet your appetite, part 1 finds Dave in military manoeuvres mode. The Allies blew a lot of stuff up during WWII. Just not in the way you might think.

Yeah, you heard right.
This week with the help of ophthalmic surgeon Arthur Cummings the lads explore just why you’d want one of your gnashers inserted into your own eye.
To counteract such gore, in part one, Neil explains which man might be the person who has saved the most human lives ever.
Add arsonist birds and animals that willingly sacrifice their young, and we got ourselves a podcast.

Maybe, to you, Death Metal sounds like an animal enduring some kind of torture alongside an explosion in a giant metal fabrication factory. Well, guess what, those of us who listen to that music are happier and nicer people than everyone else! Professor Bill Thompson, who is associated with a number of Australian universities, has proven this in a number of incredible studies and he's here to confirm that Dave is nicer and happier than Neil. As if that wan't enough for you, Part 1 sees Dave explore the wildest and most debaucherous behaviour of heavy metals craziest stars. He and Neil get very intimate with a certain bodypart of Rod Stewart that NOBODY asked for!

Neuroscientist by day, TV quizzer by night, this week’s episode sees Daragh ’The Menace’ Ennis from ITV’s the Chase drops some quality Nobel prize knowledge. The study of one animal has led to more Nobel prizes than any other apparently. Rathcoole’s finest explains all.
And as a little trivia aperitif Neil fills Dave in on the oldest company in the world and the most macabre ant in the world.

Did we always sleep the way we do now? Is Dave’s ability to sleep anywhere a talent or the sign of a man addled by life?
On this week’s pod Jill Zwarensteyn, Editor for Sleep Advisor and a Certified Sleep Science Coach explains the history of sleep and how that most fundamental aspect of our daily cycle has changed.
Part 1 sees Dave’s whistle-stop tour of the nocturnal habits of certain animals.

In this week's episode, Dave wants to tell us about the world's greatest ever heist, how one man pulled it off and moved an entire industry to the other side of the world! Along the way, we'll also learn how Formula 1 is helping to make the planet greener and we'll do that with the help of the effortlessly brilliant, Dr. Kit Chapman. Kit has written an incredible book, linked below, called Racing Green: How Motorsport Science Can Save The World.
In the first part, the lads will transport you to the wonderful surrounds of Malahide Castle for our first ever outdoor episode! Dave will tell us about the Irish woman who drove backwards over a mountain in Pakistan on purpose and a car that gets one mile to 22 gallons (this is not a typo)!

How does a word get into a language? We don't mean English, where it seems to just get absorbed like booze into your bloodstream (see last week's podcast).
What about French, or Scots Gallic or Irish?
On this week's episode the lads are joined by Donncha Ó Cróinín, Chief Terminologist at Foras Na Gaeilge ,to explain the process by which a word gets into Irish. Who decides? How do they decide? More importantly can the lads get a new word considered by the committee and then receive their seal of approval?
Part one, acts as your language warm up as Neil explains to Dave just how Sesame Street revealed some of the nuances of African American English and the boys go swimming in Offaly.

Welcome back! This is Season 4 of Why Would You Tell Me That?!
If you're new to the show, you can go back and check out all the previous episodes. There are 39 to choose from!
In this week's Season Opener, Dave has brought a celebrity to us from the other side of the world. Dr. Karl Kruszelnicki is an Australian doctor, physicist, engineer, radio host, TikTok star and, most importantly, an amazing guest expert for the show. He covers everything from where does fat go when you lose it, to why some people don't feel pain, to belly button fluff and, incredibly, which mixer will get you drunk quicker, the Diet option or the Full-Sugar one!
Also, in Part 1, Neil tells us when you can see him on Countdown again and Dave might just have stumped the quizmeister himself with a doozy of a question!
Enjoy!

It's time for our bonus live episode with Diarmuid Gavin from April 2023!
Before the launch of season 4, we present a bonus live episode!
Recorded in the lovely surrounds of Smock Alley Theatre in Dublin, the lads chat to everyone’s favourite plant botherer, Diarmuid Gavin.
Of course, because it’s WWYTMT, Diarmuid doesn’t expound on his favourite plant but details the story of the Irishman who changed an airport, a town, a country and how everybody in the world flies. What a topic! What a man!
Part 1 sees Dave and Neil exchange aviation and space trivia,
I’ll see your “first meal consumed on the moon” and raise you “how to get through airport customs without being cavity searched”.
Season 4 coming Wednesday, June 28th, 2023!
