Wicked Awesomecast

If you have found that past podcasts can get a little... side tracked or tangential, this week is no exception, in fact it's so tangential we are getting off track in this episode description to talk about hot tangential it is. We are incredibly self aware and meta like that. News is back this week with a vengeance, Jeff has a Persona 4 update, how Donald and Goofy are useless in Kingdom Hearts is discussed, Charley and Alex get into it a little over Breath Of The Wild, Charley shares his thoughts on Extra Life United, and all the news deemed worth knowing is discussed. Alex, Jeff, and Charley also let the salt flow over regretted gaming purchases in this week's bigger discussion, so yeah, stuffs happening again.

Maybe smarter men would have found a way to avoid it, but inevitable battle lines begin to be drawn. To the West the Glorious Radiant Kingdom of Mave is dick riding Breath of the Wild as hard as it can. To the North the cursed lands of Mordak prepare their hate powered siege furnaces, and to the East the Shaded Kingdom of Gir just wants to be part of the melee. In less fanciful language, Mass Effect: Andromeda is discussed, the evolution of graphics is deep dived on, listener mail is read, and the future of the Switch is discussed in a variety of ways.

All pretenses about this being a gaming podcast are dropped and the podcast finally evolves into what it was always meant to be: a disturbing discussion about the insane food science future we now live in. There's also some discussion about streamed content versus pre-recorded content, Jeff has a Persona 4 update, Charley is STILL trying to get into Breath Of The Wild, and Alex really did not do much. Slow news week on top of all this, but somehow the podcast still winds up being one of our longer ones.

Jeff might secretly be a representative for the undead, Charley is having a hard time embracing the Nintendo Switch lifestyle, Alex recounts tales of what it was like to record Switch coverage, and many other gaming related things are discussed.

Charley and Jeff really likes Horizon Zero Dawn, Alex is back from his puppy outing and learns that his co-worker may be our favorite tracksuit clad Russian Anti-Hero, and fact that the podcast has made it to episode 50 changes nothing about how off topic the podcast gets despite insistences that is a gaming podcast.

Alex is out this week and their is very little news to speak of, but that does not seem to be an issue like always. Charley has more to say about For Honor, Jeff fills us in what life is like after a D&D campaign comes to an end, and in Alex's absence it's back to the basics with off topic hockey talk, food, and the other typical brands of nonsense. News is light this week so Jeff and Charley take a chance to do a spoilerific talk about Resident Evil 7.

We put it off for as long as possible, but I suppose it was inevitable that we would eventually talk about other YouTubers directly and not with a barrier of vagueness. We also have a post Valentines Day roundup of activities, talk more about For Honor, talk a little bit more about Nioh, and engage in our usual off topic tangents.

Jeff has finally gotten around to playing some Resident Evil 7, Charley spent some time with the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands Closed BETA as well as the new game Nioh, and Alex put down Overwatch so he could pickup World of Warcraft again. We also discuss how E3 is now kind of open to the public, Super Bowl LI briefly comes up, and we work our way through our usual roundup of gaming news. As usual plenty of off topic stuff comes up as well.

Charley spent some time with the For Honor closed BETA, Alex has plague, and Jeff is now playing some weird physical thing called a sport... for fun... Other topics this week include the officially revealed and confirmed scummy tactics of GameStop, an end (for now at least) to the Zenmiax vs Oculus lawsuit, the upcoming Bastion boosts are discussed, and as always other things both relating to and in no way relating to the video game industry are discussed in more detailed then they probably warrant.
