Mayor Pete Byron of Wildwood returns to the Dom Giordano Program for a shore update as we ramp up toward summer, and for a discussion of Governor Phil Murphy’s press conference yesterday where he underwhelmed New Jerseyians with continued staunch guidelines for business operating during Coronavirus. First, Byron updates the audience and tells that tourists are starting to come back down to the shore, with a boardwalk that’s partially open. Then, Giordano and Byron move to Murphy’s press conference, discussing the impact that the continued demand of 6 feet of social distancing would have on businesses and conventions in Wildwood. After that, Giordano and Byron discuss Wildwood’s upcoming Barefoot Country Music Fest in August, featuring the Zac Brown Band, Carrie Underwood, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Dan + Shay. Then, Giordano and Byron discuss the issue of marijuana, particularly whether or not residents would like legal marijuana in Wildwood, and how the city plans to push back on the legalization of recreational marijuana.
