William Judson was drafted by the Miami Dolphins out of South Carolina State in the eighth round of the 1981 NFL Draft. Originally a long shot to even make the team, Judson went on to start in 106 of the 115 games he played for Miami over eight seasons, hauling in 24 interceptions, including two he returned for touchdowns. In The Tank, William talked about the eye opening differences from playing at a small college compared to the culture of the National Football League, racing Mark “Super” Duper…and winning, a nose injury he suffered that could have cost Bobby Monica his job, and experiencing two work stoppages during his NFL tenure, including the 1987 player strike in which he was leading the charge on the Dolphins picket lines as the team’s player rep with an assist from Dan Marino.
