In a dramatic 3-2 win over the Orioles, the A’s turned Camden Yards into their personal stage for late-game chaos. Trailing 2-1 in the ninth, Darell Hernaiz worked a leadoff walk before Gio Urshela singled to put the tying run aboard. That’s when pinch runner Lawrence Butler decided stop signs were merely suggestions, blowing past third base coach Eric Martins on Willie MacIver’s laser double down the left-field line. The relay from Gunnar Henderson beat Butler home, but catcher Alex Jackson fumbled the scoop, allowing Butler to slide across for the go-ahead run. MacIver’s clutch swing not only stunned the Baltimore crowd but also secured the series for the City-less A’s. 

Baltimore’s Cade Povich deserved better after six strong innings, but the O’s offense stayed ice-cold when it mattered most. Luis Morales, making his first big league start, walked five but somehow allowed no hits over 2.2 innings. Elvis Alvarado then came in breathing pure fire, topping 100 mph to slam the door in the ninth. A’s bats may have been quiet most of the afternoon, but when the opportunity came, they pounced — proof that this team doesn’t just hang around in games, they steal them.
