Episode 85 (Petr Klima)

This week, the fellas were joined by another young talent from southeast Michigan, Zion Green. This stud just committed to Northern Michigan University and has a chance to play there as a true freshman this upcoming season! 

While growing up in Birmingham, he played AAA for Honeybaked, Little Caesars, Compuware, and Oakland Jr. Grizzlies. This past season, he shipped off to Maine where he played for the Nordiques 16U AAA team - essentially the feeder team for the Maine Nordiques of the NAHL.

Episode 84 (Jake Chelios)

Tyler and Dustin were joined by a young gentleman who made it a living hell to play against in high school - Dom Lutz. When he and Tyler Irvine played together, they were averaging 3 points a night!! No wonder they bulldozed their way to a state title. Dom then carried his talents to Topeka where he played for the Roadrunners of the NAHL for two seasons. Despite a slow start, he found a groove his second season - putting up nearly a point per game. It was enough to catch the eyes of Ferris State, where he ended up playing for all 4 years. Dom also has been a huge part of the Made in MI hockey league and has an interesting story of how he got involved. To hear his full story, give this episode a listen!

Episode 83 (Tomas Nosek)

The guys were joined with a Wing Sauce alum to discuss her SIXTH run in the world championships with the Czech Republic - Sammy Kolowrat. She talked about the bubble life for the NWHL last season and how the Boston Pride had an easy path to the Isobel Cup since they didn’t have to go through her former squad, the Metropolitan Riveters. 

Sammy is currently in Sweden playing for Brynas, where she has to adjust to an Olympic sized sheet of ice - MUCH more skating is involved. Episode 82 (Tomas Kopecky)

Merrimack College alumnus and current forward on the Utica Comets of the AHL, Tyler Irvine, joined us this week. Back in his high school days at Livonia Stevenson, he was averaging almost 2.5 points per game! One season, he totaled 80 points in just 27 games. It’s no surprise to see him rise into the AHL, where he looks to continue to light the lamp. 

Tyler discusses the Made in MI hockey season where his team absolutely STEAM ROLLED the rest of the league into an easy championship. Jury is still out on whether they paid off the refs or not. Tune in to hear the rest of his story!

His name is Rueben Fishkin and he has a huge portfolio of college and professional athletes (mainly hockey players) - the insane thing is he’s only been in business for just over a year.

Episode 80

The fellas were graced with the presence of Jerad Rosburg: Michigan State alum and current forward for the Texas Stars of the AHL. I’m not sure what the boys discussed more on this episode, hockey or golf?  Either way, we had a blast having Jerad on to hear about his career. Hailing from Maryland, but growing up in Ohio, he’s had an interesting path to get to where he is. 

From the young junior days in the USHL, donning the green and white to represent MSU throughout his college years, and signing with the Dallas Stars organization (is that good?), we covered it all!

Episode 79

The fellas were able to wrangle in a different perspective on the pod. We have THE number one referee for Made in MI Hockey, Riley Brass. He is the Kerry Fraser of this league - beautiful hair and all.  He also weighed in on the NHL playoff officiating drama. It was refreshing to hear the point of view from the stripes.

Riley has an interesting story about how he was able to get on the varsity baseball squad at Bowling Green! Hard work and determination pays off, folks. Hopefully everyone enjoys getting to know Riley!

Episode 76 Fabian Brunnstrom?)

In this brief epi, the fellas started off chatting about the dominance of the TB Lightning - taking home their second straight Stanley Cup (Patty Maroon’s third straight). 

Then, the topic of the expansion draft arose. Who will the Red Wings keep and who will walk? The boys all have different opinions on that. Also, some trade talks have been surfacing, and only time will tell if Stevie can land a big name for the Winged Wheel. 

The final topic was discussing where the Wings will focus on for their 6th overall pick - forward or defense? According to this podcast, a goalie is NOT an option at 6! You heard it here first.

We’re days away from the expansion draft, which means the Seattle Kraken will finally have a roster!
