Episode 105

Again, not a lot of good things to say for this past week. The wings have been averaging roughly 40 shots against per game, which tells you how the defensive strength is. After allowing 7 goals against the Oilers last week, Jeff Blashill sat and his post-game presser and said how he still saw “good things” from the team. Does this sound like a coach who is fighting for his job? Or is this typical Blash?

Trade deadline is this week! Always love seeing what transpires right before playoffs. We will have much to catch up next week!

Episode 104

Not a lot of good things to discuss for this week. Defense is brutal and goalies can’t stop a beach ball. Is coaching to blame? Or has the team just found themselves in a rut? 

Jakub Vrana returned this week like he hasn’t missed a beat. Collecting 3 goals in 2 games, he set a franchise record for fewest games to 10 goals - only took V 13! That’s not the only bit of good news this week. Marc Staal played in his 1000th NHL game. His older brothers, Eric and Jordan, also accomplished this feat. This makes NHL history as the first trio of brothers to play over 1000 games!

Episode 103

The boys had a round-table discussion on the past week’s positives and negatives then took a dive right into the trade deadline. Since the Red Wings are not currently in playoff contention, they will most likely be sellers. So, who will be packing their shit by March 21st? There are a few possibilities that we wouldn’t be surprised with. 

We also discussed the much anticipated arrival of stud Swedish defenseman, Simon Edvinsson. Will we be seeing him paired up with Mo next year? Or will he need a stint in Grand Rapids?

A historic episode with our first Olympian! (10:05) Sammy Kolowrat joined for the third time to discuss her time in Beijing with the Women’s Czech National Team for hockey. It was the first Olympics that the Czech Republic women have qualified, and she gave us a peak at what life is like in the Olympic Village. This was a little different style interview as it was live and we had listeners able to ask questions about her Olympic experience. Sammy had some great stories about the Olympics from funny dinning hall stories to her favorite "bald" panda.

Episode 101

OHHHH BOY THE MILAN BROTHERS ARE BACK!! This time, they’re on together! Cody has gone viral for a certain celly (flawless execution by the way), Dan was showing off his hoops skills at the gym, and we were thoroughly enjoying the conversation that these two brought.

Since both guys played with him (as well as Connor), we brought up Vladdy Namestnikov and how underrated of a player he truly is. Cody brought up an old MSU story that is lights-out hilarious (you’ll laugh). Dan brought up some old stories at training camp for the Tampa Bay Lightning, playing against some crazy ass people in the minors, and clap bombs to the bench.

Episode 97 (1997 Stanley Cup)

In this brief eppy, the boys broke down the last two games for the Wings: the OT loss to Dallas, and the waxing in Nashville. The road record continues on a negative trend, and there’s no real answer for why. 

Tyler brings up a couple of defenders who NEED to get it together. Dustin continues to pump some tires for the top performers. Connor poses some great questions regarding some teams around the league.
