Second round of playoffs is heating up! Our own Connor (Mc)Lyons is absolutely killing it with his bracket. He knows his hockey and he’ll let you know about it. Fun fact: he decidedly won his fantasy hockey league as well. He’s a winner through and through.

Speaking of winners, the defending Stanley cup champs are still defending and are looking GOOD. Up 3-0 against the president trophy winning Florida Panthers. Dustin was quoted at the beginning of the season saying “they will not win a third straight cup.” Should Dustin be worried now? Even if they made it to the final, would they be strong enough to overtake the Avs? Time will tell!

OHHH how sweet it is!!!! Everything is right with the world now that the most arrogant fan base has been silenced for yet another season. We personally have zero qualms with the team, but the Toronto fans are incorrigible. Watching another first round exit makes us Wings fans so happy.

Round 1 is wrapping up and there have been some early surprises! One team that hasn’t been too surprising is Colorado, and that is solely because they are elite. We expected domination. And shut up to Wings fans who subscribe to the whole “yOu CaN’t RoOt FoR tHe AvS bEcAuSe ThE rIvAlRy BrO” narrative. You’re all air heads. The rivalry was incredible - the best in all sports. It is now dead. Its okay to admit how good they are. That is all.

Dustin and Tyler chat about the past week for the Wings - not too pretty. The only thing worth noting was Ned posting a 46-save shutout in Carolina - making it the second 40+ save shutout this season (43 saves in a 1-0 game vs Vancouver a few weeks ago).

I don’t know how many times we’ve said it… Blashill has to go. It’s not all his fault, but the team needs a new voice. He’s been there since 2015 and, even though the team is in a rebuild, we still see the same piss poor defense and a team that gives up after being down. Tyler tossed a few names around for new coach. Who else is available? Who would you like to see behind the bench next season?

Tyler has officially stopped watching the Red Wings for the remainder of the season. There is nothing good that has happened with this team for the past 2 months. Goalies are seeing 40+ shots per night, the whole game plan seems to have been tossed out, and the Wings continue in this embarrassing tailspin.

The ONLY thing that has been good to watch the past two months has been the rookies. Goalies have not been good but the team in front of them has not been any help in the slightest. We are fully expecting either Blashill to resign at the end of the season or Yzerman will tell him to pack his shit. Saying that the Wings need a lot is an understatement but they absolutely are in need of a new voice behind the bench. Bye bye Blash!

Can you believe it’s been 25 years since the famous Wings/Avs brawl? One of our favorite moments on this podcast was when we had the pleasure of having Darren McCarty, who undoubtedly got the best revenge on Claude Lemieux with a cold cock right to the mouth. March 26th will always be a special day in Red Wings history since that was a day that galvanized the team and propelled them to their first Stanley Cup in 42 years.

Although our current Wings are far from a cup run at the moment, there’s still a lot to look forward to. Yet again, the boys had to bring up the success of the rookies and how Mo Seider is now the front-runner for the Calder Trophy campaign.
