This week, it’s the last dance at Moonee Valley before the track’s redevelopment, featuring the Moonee Valley Gold Cup on Friday night and the our weight-for-age championship, the Cox Plate, on Saturday. There’s plenty of riches up for grabs at Randwick too, with the Group 1 Spring Champion, the Invitation and more.
This week, two of the biggest races on the calendar. It’s Caulfield Cup day in Melbourne, while at Randwick the $20 million Everest takes centre stage.
This week, one of the great days on the calendar as the best of our miler colts clash in the Caulfield Guineas on a triple Group 1 card. There are more big dollars on offer at Rosehill, where the $2 million Hill Stakes is the feature. There’s also black type at Murray Bridge and Eagle Farm.
This week, a huge day at Randwick, where undefeated mare Autumn Glow will be aiming to graduate to Group 1 glory in the Epsom. The Metrop and the Flight complete a triple Group 1 day, while the local Everest hopes have their final tune-up in the Premiere Stakes. At Flemington it’s Via Sistina versus Aeliana versus Sir Delius in the Turnbull Stakes. This race produced the winners of all three Melbourne majors last spring and could do it again.
A huge weekend of racing kicks off with the Valley night opener on Friday, headlined by Lady Shenandoah in the Group 1 Manikato. Saturday is Golden Rose day at Rosehill, with black type at Sandown.
This week, a massive Group 1 double-header at Caulfield with the Sir Rupert Clarke and the Underwood, a huge day at Randwick with Briasa and Private Harry resuming in The Shorts and Pink Ribbon Cup day on the Goldy.
It’s round two between gun mares Via Sistina and Aeliana in the Group 1 Makybe Diva at Flemington (but don’t forget Mr Brightside, who’s going for a hat-trick). At Rosehill, the crack three-year-olds clash in the Run to the Rose while in Adelaide it’s Wylie Handicap day.
This week, spring has well and truly sprung with Everest auditions in two states. The short-course sprinters match motors over 1000 metres in the Group 1 Moir Stakes to cap a 10-race card at The Valley, while Randwick is the venue for the $1 million Concorde Stakes heading the traditional spring Tattersall’s program.
This week, 10 Group 1 winners descend on Caulfield for the Group 1 Memsie Stakes, one of five black-type races on the card. At Rosehill, the three-year-olds battle it out in the Up & Coming and the San Domenico.
This week, champion mare Via Sistina returns for the first Group 1 of the new season, Randwick’s Winx Stakes. There’s also black-type action at The Valley (Carlyon Stakes), Morphettville (Leon Macdonald Stakes) and Belmont (IdyllicPrince Stakes).
