Charlie Trotter’s restaurant is reopening in Chicago, 11 years after the chef’s death. Dylan Trotter, Charlie Trotter’s son, tells Block Club Chicago that the location at 816 W. Armitage will open for two weeks starting today. Diners will get to sample a special tribute menu, and it’s completely booked. Charlie Trotter’s is expected to open permanently sometime this year and this pop up was designed to be a teaser. The restaurant first opened in Chicago in 1987 and became of the best eateries in the world. It closed in 2012.
