The tech job market in Chicago is expected to see a rebound in 2024 after layoffs and a venture capital funding slowdown last year. CompTIA, a nonprofit association for the information tech industry and workforce, says the Chicago area could see a nearly 1% increase in tech jobs this year. That would be about 2,135 jobs.
Also, Chicago-based climate tech company LanzaTech Global is one of 33 recipients across 20 states who could share $6 billion in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. The money will fund projects focusing on commercial-scale decarbonization.
