Wintrust Business Minute: Chicago ranks 3rd for most Fortune 500 companies
Steve Grzanich has the business news of the day with the Wintrust Business Minute.
The 2024 Fortune 500 list is out and Chicago has added two more big companies to the list of local heavy hitters. The city is home to 15 companies on the Fortune 500, up from 13 last year. Chicago ranks third for the most Fortune 500 companies after New York City with 41 and Houston with 21. Atlanta was third last year. The two new companies this year are GE HealthCare and Kellanova, the spin-off of Kellogg. The greater Chicago area has 31 Fortune 500 companies down from 32 last year. The biggest company on the list is Walgreens Boots Alliance.
Also, A condo development is planned for former site of a CVS pharmacy in Chicago’s Lincoln Park. Listen for more below:
