January 30, 2025 Unmasked Part 2

In today’s episode, Stephen Davey dives into Titus 1:12-16, where the Apostle Paul issues a stern command to unmask the false teachers spreading lies within the church. In a world filled with deceit, it’s easy for misinformation—even within spiritual circles—to spread unchecked. Paul’s instruction to Titus was clear: these teachers had to be unmasked for what they truly were—rebellious, deceitful, and driven by sordid gain. Their teachings were a mixture of myths and human commandments, things that sounded spiritual but lacked any basis in the truth of God’s Word.
Stephen explains the importance of discerning the real motives behind religious leaders and understanding the difference between sound doctrine and empty talk. As we journey through this passage, you’ll learn not only to recognize false teachings but also how true shepherds are called to guard the flock against such influences. We’re reminded that the pursuit of fame and fortune should never be the motive behind spiritual leadership—rather, it should be the selfless commitment to truth and the wellbeing of God's people. Join us as we unmask deception and uphold the gospel.

January 28, 2025 The Character of a Con Artist Part 2
Share a comment
In today’s episode, Stephen Davey takes us on a journey through Titus 1, highlighting the dangers of spiritual con artists in the church. We’ve all heard about con artists who scam people out of their savings with counterfeit goods or fake investment opportunities. But what happens when these con artists don’t just target your wallet, but your soul? Spiritual con artists are skilled in wrapping up lies with just enough truth to make them seem genuine. Their teachings may look good on the surface, but they leave believers spiritually impoverished and confused.
Paul instructed Titus to be on the lookout for such teachers—those with empty promises and deceptive motivations. They seek power and prestige while offering nothing of true spiritual value. In this episode, you’ll learn how to identify the characteristics of false teachers, protect yourself and your family, and remain grounded in sound doctrine. The gospel is our only hope, and we need leaders who won’t shy away from proclaiming it, even in the face of those who would twist it for their own gain. Join us as we learn to discern the truth, safeguard our hearts, and stay the course on our journey of faith.

Are you ready to be a soldier of Christ who doesn’t melt under pressure? In today’s episode, Stephen Davey unpacks Titus 1:8-9 and examines what it takes to be a true leader in the church—someone who won't crumble when challenges arise. Drawing inspiration from a Chinese missionary leader and the words of C.T. Studd, we’re reminded that God is not in the business of creating "Chocolate Christians"—those who look strong but dissolve when life gets tough. Instead, He calls us to a higher standard of character, dedication, and resilience. This episode is not just about qualifications for elders; it’s about the kind of inner strength all believers are called to develop. We’ll explore the importance of holding fast to God’s Word, standing firm in doctrine, and showing practical courage in the face of opposition. Whether you’re in a leadership role or simply seeking to grow in your faith, today's message challenges us to leave behind the "Chocolate Soldier" mentality and embrace a life of steadfast devotion to Christ, no matter the cost. Listen in and be inspired to live a life that is unwavering in both the easy and the difficult moments.

Have you ever thought about how much your actions under pressure reveal your character? The Apostle Paul knew that godly leadership requires more than skills and charisma—it demands character that’s forged in the everyday trials of life. In today’s episode, Stephen Davey walks us through Titus 1:8, where Paul lays out what it takes to lead God’s church. This isn’t just a checklist for elders; it’s a call for every believer to live a life that is a living testimony of God’s grace. We’ll explore what it means to create a "new normal," one that breaks away from cultural norms and embraces values like hospitality, justice, and a love for what is truly good. Whether you’re a church leader or not, today’s message challenges us all to think about how we’re modeling our faith to those around us. It’s about stepping away from what’s easy and embracing the high calling of living for Christ—both in our churches and in our everyday lives. Tune in and be inspired to live above the status quo and lead others by example.
