A.W. Tozer was a man whose life and ministry were fueled by a deep hunger for God and a fervent desire to see the church return to a high view of God’s holiness. Born into poverty in 1897, Tozer came to faith as a teenager after hearing a street preacher exhort people to call on the name of the Lord. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a remarkable journey that saw him preach without formal training for 44 years and write some of the most influential Christian books of the 20th century. Known for his passionate sermons and unapologetic critiques of the church’s spiritual decline, Tozer challenged Christians to keep seeking the things above (Colossians 3:1-2). Despite his shortcomings, Tozer’s legacy remains a call to live with eternity in view, prioritizing the pursuit of God above all else. His prayerful plea for deeper intimacy with God resonates as an enduring invitation to each of us: Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed.

Amy Carmichael was known for her strong will and fiery determination from a young age, traits that would later drive her to serve as a missionary in India for over 55 years without ever returning home. Her journey was marked by challenges, including poor health, cultural opposition, and even legal threats. But Amy was undeterred. She dedicated her life to rescuing children from temple slavery and raising them in the knowledge of Christ. Her work at the Dohnavur Fellowship in India saved hundreds of children and left an indelible mark on missions. Drawing inspiration from verses like 1 Corinthians 3:12-13, Amy focused on building a life with "gold, silver, and precious stones"—a life of lasting value for God's glory. Discover how this "Wild Irish" woman followed God's call to "Go ye" into all the world and how her story can inspire us to offer our best to God, no matter the cost.

Imagine dedicating your life to a cause, only to see it seemingly fail, leading to sorrow and despair. This is what David and Svea Flood faced as they set out as missionaries in Africa in 1921. They endured hardships, illness, and the tragic loss of Svea, who died shortly after giving birth to their daughter, Aina. Overwhelmed by grief, David abandoned his faith, believing their mission had failed. But years later, Aina discovered that her parents' sacrifice was not in vain. The seeds sown in tears had brought a remarkable harvest—a thriving church and hundreds of believers. Psalm 126:5 reminds us, "Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy." Join us as we explore how God turns our tears into joy, using our trials and sacrifices in ways we could never imagine.
