Goals big or small must be specific.
Elon has put his goal out there for the world to see.
Behaviors must match outcome desired.
Mini Targets need to me measured along the way to help you know if you are getting closer to your goals or not.

The funny thing about Tom Brady is he’s normal. In fact he’s more than normal… he was below average. (Let me explain)
When professional athletes are drafted they are “ASSESSED” for jumping ability, speed, arm strength, lateral movement and so on.
See picture below… Tom Brady was average or below average in the measurements all teams look for when drafting a quarterback.
When anyone looked at Michael Jordan out of college he was top of the class in every measurable physically and his competitive spirit was matched by his athletic ability.
(Rare, very rare indeed)
Tom was the slowest quarterback to ever be tested for sprint speed… the slowest ever.
What did he have… was focus, mindset, belief in himself, discipline and great leadership qualities. (Not to mention he was teamed up with the best coach of all time in the NFL)
At 43 Tom Brady is going to the Super Bowl again.
What can we learn from Tom Brady?
For a guy who was “average” who has become the Greatest Quarterback ever and found a way to look, move, and feel better than he did when he was 23 years old is incredible.
He has put in the work, stayed focused on his goals and become something that no one believed possible… except maybe for himself.
Tom being the most important person who believed in his dream.
Focus, discipline, and belief in our goals are lessons we all can take from Tom.

Michael Jordan was the best player in the world in 1990. He had been for 5 years... but he could not get past the Detroit Pistons.
Why was he- the only player on the Bulls that year that decided he needed a professional fitness coach? He was the best player in the world.
He knew he needed to put on muscle, strength, and and improve his endurance to get better.
What can you do in 2021 to get better, to get healthier?

Back in the 90’s I used to go to a gym call Spectrum Club in Manhattan Beach, California.
I still remember how it looked and felt inside. The gym had nice chromed plated dumbbells, free weights, a basketball court, a smoothie bar and office rooms for staff.
What’s interesting is I very clearly remember how the trainers used to coach clients.
Every new customer would get a tour of the studio with a trainer and then the trainer would take out some worksheets and a calculator and using the worst frame of reference…
The 1985 food pyramid as the gospel truth.
They would calculate how many calories you should eat.
Now, out of this process the best advice was the paper and pen advice.
They would say let’s track your calories for the next week and hit your daily numbers.
What do you think the follow-through was with clients tracking their calories on a paper and pen and using a calculator to add up all their totals… about ZERO.
Now the world of calories has changed a lot in the last 25 years. For starters the food pyramid was thrown out the window.
Eating a lot of processed bread to lose weight was one of the biggest lies of the decade.
What still holds true all these years later is knowing roughly how many calories you are consuming.
With high tech apps… this is very easy to do.
Now I know what you might be saying… I’m not tech savvy?
In 2019 you could get away with that. In 2020 with the pandemic everyone has had to learn to use things like Zoom and other virtual platforms.
So now is the time to use some of these cool apps to get fitter and healthier in 2020.
We are having our clients track their calories this week using MyFitnessPal.
Go to the app store and download MyFitnessPal, set up your account with your email when asked get started go to the home screen… tap Diary (food).
Watch the short video where I walk you through the process.
In conclusion, let’s track your calories from Monday to Saturday this week.
Don’t worry about what you’re eating and “What should I be eating?”
Just track so that we can see what a normal day looks like for you.
We will match that number up with your calories burned.
Bryan “90’s” Wisdom
P.S. If you have another tracking app you like better
stick with that one…
A few other ones I have heard good things about are LoseiT and Noom.
Knowing how many calories you consume daily is only part of the equation. The other important metric is how many calories are you burning? (not to mention what kind of food you are eating)
Understanding how to match your exercise with your calorie consumption is a key factor in staying healthy for a lifetime.

The concerns and fears about this pandemic has led to many of us staying inside.
Not exercising like we have in the past.
The short-term comfortable of food or drink has worn off.
Now time has passed and one thing is clear. This “THING” is not going away quickly AND some depression or even despair may have set in.
What are we to do?
The retired Navy SEAL Jocko Willink is asked this question all the time when it comes to starting a fitness program or just getting into shape.
“Where do I start. How do I start.”
His answer is so simple, yet from him with the certainty in his tone of voice… he’s easy to believe.
“HERE, AND NOW!”
You start here and now. You don’t over think. You get after it and good things will come.
Well said Jocko.
What do you need to get started with… here and now?
What’s important to you?

I recently got back from a week-long trip to the Outer Banks.
The time was well spent with my family. Reading a local magazine…
3 of the most common killers in OBX were listed. In a world where everyone is concerned about stats I thought these would be interesting…
Can you guess the top 3 killers? The first one is Rip Tides. Rip tides counted 19 fatalities in 2018 and 19 fatalities in 2019 in the Outer Banks alone.
The second killer were storm surges and the final killer that got 4 people in 2019 was lightning strikes.
You might be thinking where’s the shark fatalities. To my knowledge there weren’t any in 2019 in OBX.
These 3 killers are concerns for everyone and I go into detail about how you can handle yourself on my latest podcast episode at the Wisdom Movement Method,
but more important than these 3 killers is the way we are treating our bodies during these extreme times...
Now how does this related to us… Now is the time to strengthen our immune systems. In a world where strengthening our immune systems is mission critical… now is the time.
Be there for your family and friends by taking good care of yourself.
