Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 1. I ask that you then go over verses 28-33 and see the consequences for not seeking God and living your life with wisdom. On today's podcast I will be concluding my study on How to Become a Mature Christian. This study has been on Fridays for about six months (with a few Fridays given to other topics). The seventh marker of Christian maturity (according to an article entitled "Growing Deeper in Faith: found on the website: growing in time.com is Discipleship Multiplication. This is maybe the most important of all seven markers. It is also the marker that many people feel a bit uncomfortable with. Hopefully, after listening to today's lesson you will be more emboldened to follow the instructions given today. By the end of today's podcast there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. We are to become disciples for Christ.

2. Making disciples is the responsibility of all Christians.

3. The journey toward Christian maturity isn't a destination, but an ongoing process of transformation.

Friends, this is my call to action on today's lesson - When you open your mouth, does wisdom come out? & when you open your mouth does the law of kindness come out? Our words are so vitally important! On today's podcast I will continue our study of the Gospel, according to Luke. Today we will be going over the first four verses of Chapter 17 (which are entitled "Jesus Warns of Offenses." By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Jesus warned that judgement awaits those who cause others to stumble.

2. Christians are called to endure suffering in this world , for they will receive a far greater reward in the world to come.

3. We need to be quick to forgive.

I will then key in on verses 32 & 33 - If you have been foolish in exalting yourself, Or if you have devised evil, put your hand on your mouth. For as the churning of milk produces butter, And wringing the nose produces blood, So the forcing of wrath produces strife. Friends, our words are very important - and we should treat them that we. We are to encourage people with our words. On today's podcast I will begin by reviewing the three points I brought up on Monday's podcast (Episode #846 - If you did not get a chance to tune in, I invite you to do so). I will then begin today's lesson. Today we will be completing the last five verses of Chapter 16 of Luke's gospel. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. The rich man did not want his five brothers to go to hell.

2. Abraham made it clear that the rich man's brothers should have known what to do.

3. A person who rejects God's message will not be persuaded by resurrection.

Jeff is the first Messianic Jew that I've had on my program, and he is the oldest guest I've ever had on my program (Jeff is 84 years old). I will then key in on verses 4 & 5 - Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, But such as keep the law contend with them. Evil men do not understand justice, But those who seek the Lord understand all. Friends, these two verses could apply to the story in today's lesson. The rich man, when on earth, was used to having what he wanted. When he died, he found out that that was not the case. On today's podcast I will begin by reviewing the three points I had introduced on last Thursday's podcast (Episode #844 - If you did not get a chance to tune in to that podcast, I invite you to check it out). I will then begin a passage of scripture entitled "The Rich man and Lazarus." It is found in Chapter 16 of the Gospel, according to Luke. We will go over verses 19-26 today. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. The dead will know their fate immediately.

2. The rich man desired relief from his suffering.

3. The unrighteous, once they have died, cannot enter into the sphere of the righteous.

I will then key in on verses 13 & 14 - My son, eat honey because it is good, And the honeycomb which is sweet to your taste; So shall the knowledge of wisdom be to your soul; If you have found it, there is a prospect, And your hope will not be cut off. Friends, these two verses speak of the importance of having wisdom in our lives. To pursue wisdom means spending time in the Word of God (the Bible) on a regular basis. On today's lesson we will continue our study of the Gospel, according to Luke. Today we will go over verses 14-18 of Chapter 16. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. What is highly esteemed among men is an abmonination in the sight of God.

2. The Lord does not see as man sees, for man looks at the outword appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

3. It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one title of the law to fail.

Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven. Friends, we need to put our trust in God (and His son Jesus) and not our money or material things. On today's podcast I will begin by going over the three points that I introduced on Monday's podcast (Episode #841 - If you did not get a chance to tune in I invite you to check it out). On today's podcast we will cover Chapter 16 of Luke's Gospel, verses 9-13. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Money in and of itself is not a problem, but the of money is.

2. He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.

3. You cannot serve both God & mammon.
