  • The Wise Men Say podcast, in association with ALS – 2017/18 – Episode 1
Well, Friday happened and it wasn't all that bad. A decent performance, a well earned point and plenty of effort from the lads in red and white. There's plenty to discuss in the studio, with WMS regulars Craig Clark and Gary Foster joining Gareth, as well as Chris Thompson from A Love Supreme.

A new season, but maybe not the optimism that should not all come with it.Sunderland begin their first Championship season in a decade at home to Derby County on the back of that awful game against Celtic. We get the lowdown on Simon Grayson from Simon Crabtree and hear from Derby County podcaster Chris Parsons. We also hear from the gaffer himself. No Stephen this week, so Gareth is joined by WMS contributor Craig Clark and The Sunderland Echo's Phil Smith.

  • Wise Men Say Podcast live at The Southwark Brewery! 02/09/17
Join us at The Southwark Brewery for another WMS live show on Saturday September 2nd! We’ll be joined by former Sunderland goalkeeper and journalist David Preece. Doors are at 7pm and tickets are available at wisemensay.co.uk for £10 (plus £1 booking fee). There’ll be plenty to discuss and it should be another great night. It was incredibly popular last time we did a show at the Brewery and it sold out in a couple of weeks, so I’d suggest you move fast! We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Wise Men Say – in association with A Love Supreme – 2016/17 – Episode 30
In a season of abject displays, Saturday's pathetic showing against Swansea probably topped the lot. In a final studio show of the season, we're joined by Gavin Henderson of Roker Report, Sobs of A Love Supreme and The Evening Chronicle's James Hunter. Hopefully it'll be a more worthwhile use of time than the 90 minutes we all endured on Saturday.

  • Wise Men Say – in association with A Love Supreme – 2016/17 – Episode 29
Stephen, Gareth and Rory are joined by former Wearside Roar editor, amongst other things, Tom Lynn. We pick the bones out of a bizarre Sunderland performance in which we played quite well and did two of those goal things that other people keep banging on about. Too little too late? Hope for next season? Or just plain meh?

  • Wise Men Say – in association with A Love Supreme – 2016/17 – Episode 26
We're getting to the stage where the undertaker is going to have to replace the coffin, such is the residual damage from the constant hammering of nails in the aforementioned casket of relegationy goodness. Sunderland seemed to be there in body and not in spirit as they limped to a 0-3 home reverse to Manchester United. Is there anything good about us at the moment? We're all scratching our heads. No Stephen this week, so Gareth is joined by WMS contributors Rory Fallow and Richard Easterbrook as well as local celeb and all round top bloke, Frankie Francis.
