Witchy Work Wishes

Well .... if you can get through my familiar crow "love bug" talking to me for the first half of the episode as I record it along with all of the little side stories I tell ... I hope you love this podcast about Yule.  

Podcast summary ...

1. Yule is typically around December 21steach year and goes through the 1st of January. It’s tied to the Winter Solstice.

2. Colors for Yule will be Red, Green, Silver, Gold, White and Blue

3. Crystals & Stones for Yule are the Bloodstone, Clear Quartz, Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies and Garnets.

4. Herbs & Flowers will be our thistle, chamomile, ivy, mistletoe, peppermint, rosemary and sage

5. For our oils and incense you’ll want to use cedar, cinnamon, cloves, frankincense, juniper, myrrh, peppermint, pine and sweet orange.

6. Trees for Yule are cedar, juniper, pine, holly, fir, apple, birch, chestnut, and citrus.

7. Deities are The Oak King and the Holly King.

8. Great things to do for Yule are going to be making a yule log (That is going to be a piece of wood / a log that has decorations like holly or mistletoe, pinecones, evergreens, and 3 candles. You can use it as your table’s centerpiece and then burn it in your bone fire. Even more powerful if you have any remnants of lasts years fire with your 2021 yule log in it …. To start the new fire this year. If you don’t … be sure to save a part of this year’s fire you so can start your 2023 yule fire with it.)

9. Decorating a yule tree is perfect for the holiday …. Even better if it’s a live tree that you can plant in the Spring. Be sure to top it with a five-point star representing the 5 elements.

10. Other good things to do for Yule are going to be making a witch’s bell, bake something for the holidays, make or buy gifts for your loved ones, decorate your alter, celebrate with fire with your candles and fireplace (of course if you can …. Do a little fire magic and write down what you want to let go of for the new year and burn it).

Mercury Wednesday can be summarized with the following notes;

1. This day is ruled by communication, expression and travel.

2. The two signs associated with Mercury are Gemini and Virgo.

3. Geminis are very smart and witty, socially popular, talkative, sharp and very outgoing.

4. Virgo’s are analytical, hardworking, smart, organized, sensitive, trustworthy, and very social.

5. The Crystals for Wednesday are going to be Citrine, Aventurine and Agate.

6. Colors will be yellow, orange, purple, grey and light blue (honestly a bunch of colors)

7. Our Wednesday herbs will be lavender and jasmine.

8. And if you have incense to burn … aromas for Wednesday will be Lavender, eucalyptus, jasmine and sweet pea.

9. For the elements …. Air is going to be tied to Wednesday. So, feathers, loose flowing air like clothing will be best.

10. Metals for Wednesday are going to be both quicksilver and of course … mercury.

11. Our deities for Wednesday are Odin, Hermes / Mercury, Athena and Lugh.

12. Wednesday is ruled by the mind – so anything you can do to better your mind and communication is great to do with Mercury’s help!

Today's episode is all about Mars on Tuesday!  This is a day filled with masculine energy and really the perfect day to follow our Monday's when to-do lists are made.  Tuesday are all about action and getting things done with authority!  Some key notes are ... 

1. Tuesday is going to elicit masculine energy …. and will give you a kinda “take charge” mood. It’s a good day to tackle your battles & struggles.

2. Mars is ruled by the ancient God of War …. So our element for Tuesday is FIRE.

3. Tuesday has tones of strength, confidence, passion, power, authority, conflicts and victory.

4. Tuesday is your day to plan meetings. Be courageous this day. Tuesday is the perfect day to “get it done”. Whatever “it” is for you …. This is your day!

5. Spell work on Tuesday Mars Day is going to be best done by using a red candle, working with iron (again .. does not need to be something really big but does need to be the actual iron metal) and working with the element of fire.

6. You can use tea, essential oils and stones & crystals for easy office intentions and spell work on Tuesdays …. Or … use your time before and after work for the more complicated spell work.

7. Mars Tuesday is a great day to work with the dead and your ancestors.

8. This is your power day … so red, orange and black are going to be the best colors for Tuesday.

9. For your workday outfits … you are going to want something that enhances your feeling of being in control. Ladies .. grab your power suit or the outfit that gives you a bunch of confidence.

10. Our crystals for Mars on Tuesday are going to be our big reds ….. Ruby, Garnet, Bloodstone and Carnelian.

11. Our Herbs and Plants will be the Red Rose, Nettle, Cock’s Comb, Thistle and Cactus.

12. Be respectful of the Mars Tuesday energy. To the same degree we can have a kick-ass kind of day ….. We could easily have a destructive day. Mars is known for being violent…. It “is” the planet of war. So be mindful 😊

Thank you for joining me today for my 6th podcast episode - Tea At Work.  I have today's episode broken down into three main areas;  A. The tea plant and it's benefits  B. Loose leaf vs tea bags   C.  Tea for Work.

A. The tea plant and it’s benefits ... 

     1.   All tea, actual tea, comes from one type of plant. It’s called “Camellia Sinensis”.

     2.  What makes the tea plant so powerful? It certainly has a bunch of antioxidants …. The magical component is something called L-theanine.

     3.  Our body does not produce L-theanine, making tea one of the best natural sources of this beneficial compound.

     4.  What are the 4 types of tea (actual tea from the Camellia Sinensis plant)

     5. Top herbs for tea are Chamomile, peppermint, ginger, Hibiscus and echinacea.

B.  Loose leaf vs tea bags. 

Loose leaf all the way. This is a game changer if you have only ever done tea bags. I can’t impress this enough. Your whole outlook will change when you switch to loose leaf tea and, you’ll see so many more benefits since you’ll be getting the high antioxidants directly from the organic source that is freshly dried.

C. Tea specifically for the office and work. We’ll there is always a way, right? You can prep the night before and get your tea strainers ready by packing them with your favorite blend or you can plan ahead for the week and portion out what’s needed to get you through your schedule. Bring your big mug, tea, strainer and sweeteners if needed. You don’t even need to wash things before you come home. They can go right back into the container you brought them to work in. Just be careful – tea stains. You’ll want a washable container to transport your tea supplies in. Good teas and herbs for work are …. Green tea, Jasmine tea, Ginseng tea (be sure to get the Asian Ginseng). Black, Peppermint, Ginger, Nettle and Cinnamon are also good office teas.

Monday is Moon Day!  Join me, Charlene - your host of Witchy Work-Wishes, for a fun talk about how we can use the powers of the Moon on her special day, Monday, to make our start of the work week even better!  

1. Monday being the day of the moon is going to elicit a bunch of emotions. It’s a good day to work with your instinct and intuition. It’s a great day for self-care, rest and focus. It’s a feminine day and perfect day to incorporate the element of water into what you are doing. It’s also going to be a day of comfort food.

2. Monday’s get such a “bad wrap” because of the heavy heavy emotions that can happen. The Moon is all about emotions and instincts …. and the Cancer sign is tied directly to the moon …. so Monday’s can have some heavy mood swings that are really high and really low.

3. The moon’s energy on Monday in general is geared towards women, beauty, the home, family, cooking and healing. Focusing on and developing your intuition on Mondays is a great practice. So is practicing your divination.

4. What should we do on Mondays?

a. First ….. Make “to do lists”. Monday is the ultimate day for reset and creation. It’s our fresh beginning of a new week. Monday starts everything off and sets     the tone and foundation for what’s to come.

b. Second … Take a little extra time while getting ready for work. Light a white candle, have your stones & crystals near by as you sip your coffee or tea and set your intentions for the week.

c. Third … connect with some Moon Deities.  There is Diana who has the Crescent Moon, Selene who has the Full Moon, Artemis who has the New Moon and Hecate who has the Dark Moon.

5. Lastly, we can honor the beautiful moon and Monday being her special day by dressing in colors of white, grey and silver and wearing our moonstone jewelry to embrace her. Monday is about nurturing our feelings and getting organized for the week, so wearing clothes that comfort us and make us feel safe are great on these days. Don’t forget we want clothes that are free flowing, loose and feminine as they will complement the moon’s energy.

Welcome to episode #3 - tracking your time and journaling.  I have pictures uploaded to Instagram and some extra content on my Patreon account for this fun episode.  One pic you'll just laugh at as my kitten (now 6 month old) erased 1/2 of the recording by walking over the laptop and trying to catch the moving curser on the screen.  Ugh.  So, I split the recording and started over.  Of course my big German Shepard started snoring when I started the new split .... and then was walking around on the wood floor (you'll hear his nails clicking on the wood while I am recording).  I promise I'll get this down soon and give you a good solid podcast without all of the distractions!
