Maria Lupue earned her doctorate studying the impact of physical activity on menopause quality of life, how cool is that? She fell into this area of study accidentally, as she watched clients and friends around her going through menopause and knowing she enter menopause herself, she felt this would be a meaningful area to focus her attention. In the show we discuss how important it is for all women in menopause to understand how impactful exercise can be on many levels; from emotional wellbeing and improved quality of life, to positively helping with longevity and health outcomes. We also discuss how women can enter the world of exercise if they have never done any before, what does that look like?

Can you imagine starting over your career age 65 years old? The idea seems pretty daunting, but for Melissa Davey it was something she actively strove to do. She left her corporate job of 20 years and became a documentary maker. Her first documentary is called Beyond 60
This documentary centers around the lives of women that society has disregarded and flips that narrative on its head. The women in this documentary run the gamut of expertise, from a fine artist who has worked with Lady Gaga to a veterinarian who swam across the English Channel at the tender age of 62
This has to be one of my favourite interviews to date, Melissa is so interesting and I totally want to be her when I grow up. You can watch the documentary here at

Most women will suffer with genitourinary symptoms of menopause (GSM) but have no idea what's happening, and typically leave it too late before they seek out treatment. Dr Kelly Casperson discusses why it is so important to get proactive information in women's hands so they can get treatment early. We also dig into why our desire, arousal and libido take a nose-dive during menopause and talk about solutions you can take to remedy this. Dr Kelly Casperson has a great book and podcast called, You Are Not Broken! Where she discusses our sexual wellbeing through menopause. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/you-are-not-broken/id1495710329

Emily is probably well-known to you as the founder of the stationary brand of the fantastic cards Em & Friends. But at age 38 she started to experience life-altering perimenopause symptoms that lasted for years. As a previous cancer survivor she received mixed messages about what treatment options were available to her, and had to do some big acts of self-discovery to make sure her physical and emotional wellbeing were being taken care of during menopause. These included setting boundaries and letting go of things that were making her miserable and starting strength training. Emily has been open about her struggle, and used that to create some amazing perimenopause empathy cards, which are hilarious and worth checking out. She also issues a sign-up worth newsletter that can be found at emilyonlife.com/
