A meeting was held on July 1 at the Meridian Police Dept. The following people attended: Kassie Coleman – District Attorney Benny Dubose – Police Chief (MPD) Jay Arrington – Captain of Investigations (MPD) Gypsi Ward – Investigator (AG) Tony Green – Director of Investigations PID (AG) Richie McAlister – Chief Administrative Officer Were they there to help the Andreacchio family? Were they there to figure out how the investigation got botched, or were they there to cover their mistakes and get on the same page to cover up yet another case gone bad? Christian Andreacchio’s case was the subject of the meeting, the power players in Meridian and Mississippi all in one place discussing Christian. The meeting speaks for itself; Jay Arrington spent the meeting covering his actions and agitated that the Andreacchios have sought outside help. Kassie Coleman concentrated on what information was at the police station, in the evidence locker, and what communications they had available with the Andreacchios. Of course, Kassie Coleman keeps saying there isn’t new evidence, a ridiculous statement. Why Richie McAlister is involved in the meeting, is perplexing. This is the same man caught on tape saying he would have to piss on a kid’s memory. Tony Green, the director of public integrity being part of the conversation is invaluable; his belief in his role, the role of the AG office, and the Andreacchios speaks volumes. He said they don’t dance to the Andreacchios, isn’t he supposed to protect the public from people like himself? Gypsi Ward was the investigator on the case; she also presented the case to the grand jury. An investigator presented to the grand jury with evidence that had nothing to do with Christian’s case. Was she trying to skew the results so they wouldn’t proceed? This group of collaborators appears to be covering their actions, slamming the Andreacchios and their efforts instead of helping a needy family. Forensic expert and consultant Mike Martinez weigh in on the Christian Andreacchio case, sharing his opinion on the suicide vs. homicide debate. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science & Mathematics and a Master of Science in Forensic Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is also a trained Emergency Medical Technician. Mike Martinez is a nationally and internationally respected consultant with over decades of experience in the forensic sciences and provided training, and consultation services for criminal and civil cases throughout the United States. He has served as a training expert for the U.S. Dept. of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), the U.S. Dept. of Justice International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP), and the U.S. Dept. of Defense Civil Support Team (CST). In this episode, Mike speaks with Sheila about what is and is not important when evaluating a crime scene and explains why blood spatter location is important in assessing the overall scene. These will count toward the Five Forensic Factors at the crime scene that don't add up to suicide. These factors are the position of the body, the trajectory of the wound, the location of the spent cartridge, and the location of the bullet. These factors are in addition to the inconsistencies in witness statements. After weighing all the forensic information, listen to this episode to hear Mike’s conclusions.

Sheila, Rae Andreacchio, Josh Andreacchio, and private investigator Lori Morrison sit down to discuss the corruption they see in the Meridian Police Department's handling of Christian's case. Rae reveals new information about DNA evidence from the scene — revealed only through leaked audio. Josh talks about the bullet found in the bathtub and why he believes it was intentionally placed there by someone. Even more revealing: Listeners are reaching out with their own stories about how MPD's poor investigation procedures have left them baffled and frustrated over the suspicious death of their own loved one. Rae and Josh go into detail about the MPD's lack of time and attention to this case compared to others, and everyone gives their thoughts on why some cases seem to get a thorough investigation while others don't. The group talks about a medical examiner's ability to determine whether an individual is depressed just by looking at autopsy photos and whether it's an ME's job even to address such an issue. As an experienced investigator, Sheila has seen time and time again how the narrative provided by the police has colored a medical examiner's report. In Christian's case, Dylan called it a suicide, the 9-1-1 operator transferred that narrative to the police, and they accepted it instead of considering him a suspect until he could be definitively cleared.

Crime scenes contain physical evidence that can tell us what happened to a victim, and in this episode, we review that crime scene with Alina Burroughs and a forensic expert. We discuss what was and was not done, and what should have been done. First responders were delayed after Dylan Swearingen gave the 911 operator the wrong address. A narrative was already established when they finally arrived: it was a suicide. Why was that narrative established? Because that's what Dylan told the 911 operator. Penny, a listener, joins in with details from the police file. Another listener provides audio from Whitley’s spokesperson about Christian’s case.
