This weeks case is that of Claudia Lawrence a 35 year old who went missing from York on the 18th of March 2009.

Hello and welcome to the fourth episode of Wives and Knives a true crime podcast with your hosts Dani & Kelly.

Wives and Knives was created in early 2020 when we discovered that we, a like minded group of general weirdos had a mutual interest in true crime. It started as a weekly zoom call during lock down and has developed into this! We love researching and creating this content and hope you enjoy listening.

This episode is part two on Marty Johnstone aka The handless corpse. Kelly waffles on about this criminal from the seventies, who was found in a quaint Lancashire village but who had connections to an international crime syndicate.

Episode Four is a two parter (because I waffle on too much) but we aren’t gonna make you wait, we’re super nice so both episodes are available today. This week’s case is the case of Christopher ‘Marty’ Johnstone aka The handless corpse.

Dani thinks that I potentially may have a crush on this this criminal from the seventies, who was found in a quaint Lancashire village but who had connections to an international crime syndicate.

Please note that we recorded the majority of this episode last year when we were allowed to meet up. We finished recording this episode over zoom so the sound levels vary considerably. I have had to edit the absolute shit out of this episode also....as Crikey can I chat rubbish....thank you for sticking with us.

Hello and welcome to the third episode of Wives and Knives a true crime podcast with your hosts Dani & Kelly.

Happy New Year 🥳

We’ll get through this one as we did the last - by creating Wives & Knives and having a blast.

Wives and Knives was created in early 2020 when we discovered that we, a like minded group of general weirdos had a mutual interest in true crime. It started as a weekly zoom call during lock down and has developed into this! We love researching and creating this content and hope you enjoy listening.

As a follow on from the first episode we discuss the case of Paige Chivers.

Paige lived at home with her parents Frank Chivers and Sheila Houghton and her younger brother, Jack, in Bispham, Blackpool. Paige’s family life is reported as ‘dysfunctional’, and Paige is often described as ‘troubled’ and rebellious . At the age of 13 she was expelled from school due to her bad behaviour.

This week we bring you a Christmas special - full disclosure we chat shit for an age before we get to the Christmas themed Crime. Christmas movies, Schitts Creek, Halloween, Christmas Jumpers, and much much more random crap.

Trigger warning for this episode - it contains some pretty horrific torture description.

The audio is pretty shocking in this episode as we have recorded the majority of it over zoom, so you can hear plenty of rustling in places and some moaning which Dani says is her dog, you can make your own mind up.

Kristy was a teenager who, along with his siblings, was visiting his older sister in London for Christmas. Sadly It would be his last Christmas and the very people who should have been caring for him were the ones that were charged with his murder.

Hello and welcome to the very first episode of Wives and Knives a true crime podcast with your hosts Dani & Kelly.

Wives and Knives was created in early 2020 when we discovered that we, a like minded group of general weirdos had a mutual interest in true crime. It started as a weekly zoom call during lock down and has developed into this! We love researching and creating this content and hope you enjoy listening.

Please note that we are not pretending to be professionals in this field and all the information we will tell you is available to the public. We are simply collating everything we find and presenting it to you in the form of a podcast.

For the first episode we have chosen to look at the case of Charlene Downes.

Charlene Downes was born 25th March 1989 to parents Karen and Bob Downes. She had 2 sisters , Emma and Becky and one brother Robert Jnr and a grandma who lived with them called Lena. Charlene was born in Walsall, Coventry before moving to Blackpool in 1999. Her case is shrouded in here say, police ups and undoubtedly a wall of lies; it has taken years to get a full picture of Charlenes life and her case is still open.
