Deloitte expects holiday sales to grow 2.9% to 3.4% overall from November through early January, well below last year's 4.2%. Pace E-commerce sales, however, are seeing climbing 7 to 9% roughly in line with last year's 8% gain. Now Bain forecasts a 4% increase in the final two months of the year during holiday shopping season with non-store sales, which includes e-commerce and mail orders slowing to 7%
after two years of 9 to 10% average growth, and PWC projects a 5% drop in average seasonal spending. The first meaningful decline since 2020. So what will it be? Time will tell, but one thing is for sure if you're in business and need to plan for the upcoming holiday season, it's anybody's guess how things are going to play out.
