Do you know that confidence comes from using your voice and telling your story? Do you know that using the experience you want to talk about is freeing? It's true. Are you telling people about YOU? People are interested in hearing about you and will communicate with you as they get to know, like, and trust you. That happens when we open our mouths to speak. 

We - you - us have gone through so much. We didn't go through all of that to keep our story to ourselves. Are you sharing your story with the audience God has for you to speak through? You voice is important and as you continue to use it, you will also discover your signature story, yet that all starts when you start speaking. So start and amazing things will happen when you begin.

My conversation with Karen Laos, author of "Trust Your Own Voice, Growing Your Influence Through Confident Communication" was an authentic, revelatory, and enlightening one. Karen tells us we don't have to hold back to have a voice. She says there is freedom in becoming more confident communicators. Karen reminds us that although she didn't come from a perfect home, when we learn to trust our own voice we can still walk in power and authority as we master building credibility. When it comes to telling your story -- my story -- there must be a reason we're telling it that will move people in a positive direction. Speaking on stage is much more than simply hearing ourselves speak. That's selfish and that's not why Jesus is calling us to speak. He wants us to tell others who it was that helped us get through (Jesus) and how we continue to navigate through. There has to be a point to our story. Les Brown says never tell a story without making a point and never make a point without telling a story. 

So, why are you speaking? Know your why and lead with that. You will touch many people and that's what speaking is about.

Do you want to speak with power, confidence, and clarity? I’m eager to help the women who want to walk in their voice and their truth. Are you ready to speak? When it comes to speaking on the stage, you can. It’s about getting the help and support you need. We have to work at it and become really intentional regarding getting to where we want to be. It takes work to be great. Do you want to speak on stage? There is a process to it that enables success to come. Why do we want to speak? If it’s simply to impress ourselves and to hear ourselves talk, speaking success will never come. It will come, however, when we know our purpose for being on the stage is bigger than us.

So speak if you want to. Just start. Just see yourself on the stage. See yourself growing your brand. Visualize.

My “SAY It!” is something you can use to speak confidently on the stage. SAY It! stands for Speak, Affirmations, and Yield. Each one of those elements are key to speaking for growth, leverage, and scaling regarding your speaking journey. Speak for power. Use Affirmations to speak positively over your life. Yield to the Holy Spirit to ensure you’re in alignment with what the Lord God has for you. With focus and intentionality and while respecting the reticular activating system in your brain, SAY It! will help take your further in many areas of your life, so SAY It!

Do you know that getting to know your audience and them to get to know you is about nourishing and cultivating your message? What do you do to support, engage, add value, and hang out with your audience? Do you even know who your audience is? Start spending time with them by getting to know them. It doesn't matter what app. It's just that it should be at least a major app you spend the most of the your time and a secondary app after that.

If you want to speak and to the right Clubhouse and/or social media community/following, you can do it. At a minimum, it will take intention and going out of your way to serve people and establish relationships. When you show up, you will increase your community by speaking to them based on your story and your overall message. Just start and movement will happen.
