Naomi Li, an antiwar activist at Cornell, joins us as we discuss why popular media narratives exaggerate the threat and paint the epidemic as a result of government corruption, rather than praising the country's swift mobilization of resources to address the outbreak.Finally, Monica Cruz joins our conversation about the Iowa Caucus, the Democratic Party's clear attempts to hurt Bernie Sanders' campaign, and the billionaires behind the shady "Shadow" app that handed Pete Buttigieg a dubious victory.

We open today's show, January 31st, 2020, with a discussion about the impact of the Trump administration quietly changing the definitions of domestic violence and sexual assault back in April. These definition had been expanded under the Obama administration to include non-physical abuse like intimidation, manipulation, humiliatiation, isolation and more, but has since been reversed under Trump.We then turn to discuss the ongoing crisis of missing indigenous women here in the US. According to the FBI’s National Crime Information Center, 5,590 Indigenous women were reported missing last year, but advocates say the staggeringly high rates of violence Indigenous people is still not fully reflected in official accounting as many activists say there is a huge lack of information on the countless unresolved cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women.We end with an extended segment on the upcoming Iowa Caucus for the 2020 democratic primaries. We discuss and answer the question, why did Elizabeth Warren emerge suddenly when there is clearly a poll right now in the progressive left within the democratic party? We go further into the anti-Bernie appointments to the DNC by Tom Perez, the DNC chair. Discuss with us all the ways the democratic party establishment has attempted to stop the Sanders campaign and the socialist tide behind him.

On today's show , January 24th, 2020, we will discuss the recent interview published in the Hollywood Reporter with Hillary Clinton promoting a new documentary about her that will premiere on Saturday at the Sundance Film Festival. Joining the show is Monica Cruz from the Party for Socialism and Liberation as well as Dr. Nadia Marsh a women's health activist and physician from Harlem. When asked her thoughts on Bernie Sanders, she stated: “Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician.” She of his campaign, “It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.” The day after, Hillary had to rescind her statement due to the public backlash.We then discuss the Trump administration's major assault on social welfare. The Trump administration is proposing to do about a million more of these reviews than the Reagan administration did over a similar time period.Next in our conversation, a French woman had her feet and parts of her fingers amputated after developing toxic shock syndrome from using a menstrual cup. Sandrine Graneau, 36, from Loire-Atlantique on the western coast of France spoke about the day she fell ill to the Le Parisien newspaper. We close with a report posted in Marie Claire titled “They're Single. They're Straight. They're Friends. And They're Having a Baby.” We discuss the realities of the struggles of women raising children and posit why women may want to turn to raising children with other women rather than their male partners.

CNN released audio of a post-debate exchange between Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren in which she accuses Bernie of being a "liar on national TV" for denying the claim that Sanders told Warren during a meeting in 2018 that he didn't believe a woman could win. Discuss with us why Elizabeth Warren's use of identity is a misdirection aimed at dampening the support for socialism.Later in the program, on Jan. 8, 250 million Indian workers, students, and farmers went on strike to protest far right Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government’s promotion of racist Hindu nationalism and austerity measures.We close out today's program with the recent news of the US backed failed coup leader Juan Guaidó attempting to force himself into the Venzuelan National Assembly. We will close out with a discussion with local NYCHA resident activists who have been organizing since 2015 against a proposed infill - a towering 50 story luxury building - to be built ON TOP of their playground. After incredible organizational efforts, NYCHA was forced to withdraw its infill plan at Holmes. We will hear all that and more in the next two hours.

Last week, The Trump administration approved a new rule that is going to take away food from nearly 700,000 Americans. A total of about 2.2 million households could lose access to government food assistance, while another 3.1 million may see reduced benefits. Joining the show will be joined by Bex Hampton an organizer with the party for socialism and liberation in ABQ and a housing care manager who works with homeless families in New Mexico.

The coup attempts began in Bolivia after the October 20th elections where President Evo Morales won with over a ten point lead. Learn in this episode why this has been a false pre-text for a coup that has been planned for some time prior to the elections. In the last week, right wing, anti union, and anti indigenous forces led by former senator and self proclaimed leader of Bolivia Jeanine Áñez and backed by elements of the police and military have usurped the country’s top government positions and are violently repressing President Morales’s supporters, who have taken to the streets in thousands. Learn more about the mainstream media blackout on this violence and on the anti-indigenous colonial sentiments of the self proclaimed "interim" government.
