The Putin regime recently arrested Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny after his return to the country post-poisoning. Demonstrators in Russia continue to protest Navalny’s arrest and the Kremlin’s crackdown in the lead up to the country’s September parliamentary election.
Russian democracy advocate Vladimir Kara-Murza, who has twice been poisoned by the Putin regime, joined the show following his own arrest this weekend. He discusses Navalny’s case, the growing opposition movement, and how the Biden administration can help those fighting for freedom in Russia.
Vladimir Kara-Murza is a Russian democracy activist, politician, author, and filmmaker. He was a longtime colleague of Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov and chairs the Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom. Kara-Murza is a former deputy leader of the People’s Freedom Party and was a candidate for the Russian State Duma.
