Next, they break down the 18-count indictment against John Bolton for allegedly mishandling classified information during his time in the first Trump administration. If the accusations are correct, Bolton clearly broke the law. However, the prosecution is complicated by President Trump publicly supporting the prosecution of Bolton. They also discuss how crimes related to classified information ought to be handled consistently.

Then they examine the unhinged left, including Don Lemon urging people of color to go buy guns for when ICE comes to their doors. And The View's Joy Behar oddly insisted no Republicans denounced Jay Jones but Democrats did.

First, they break down new polling showing Republican Winsome Earle-Sears cutting Democrat Abigail Spanberger’s lead to less than three points. The momentum shift comes after revelations that Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones sent violent text messages about murdering political opponents and wishing harm on their children. The same poll shows GOP Attorney General Jason Miyares up nearly six points over Jones. Jim unloads on Jones for acting like a "psychopath" toward the opposing party, but he's not sure it will be enough to push Republicans to victory.

Next, they wince as CNN's Christiane Amanpour suggests Israeli hostages were treated better than people in Gaza during the recent war. She later issued an on-camera apology, but Jim is disgusted that Amanpour could not hide her disdain for Israel for even one day.

Finally, they turn to Maine, where Gov. Janet Mills is entering the U.S. Senate race to challenge Republican Sen. Susan Collins. Mills is leaning heavily on her brief defiance of President Trump over gender policies. Meanwhile, a big primary fight among Democrats could be coming. The 77-year-old Mills faces veteran Graham Platner, who is enthusiastically endorsed by Bernie Sanders.

Inez Stepman of the Independent Women’s Forum fills in for Jim on the Thursday 3 Martini Lunch. Join Inez and Greg as they discuss what they hope will soon be the release of the remaining hostages held by Hamas, a major economic policy blunder by the Democrat running for governor in Virginia, and a surprising dead heat in the 2026 New York governor’s race.

First, they welcome reports that Hamas has agreed to release the living hostages and the remains of the rest as part of Phase 1 of President Trump’s Middle East plan. Inez cautions against celebrating until the hostages are actually home but credits Trump for getting Hamas sympathizers in Qatar and Turkey to pressure Hamas into accepting the deal.

Next, they highlight Virginia Democratic gubernational nominee Abigail Spanberger openly supporting a 2020 law passed and signed by Democrats that mandates all energy in Virginia must be renewable by 2050. There are two problems with that. There's no indication that will be feasible. And if it is, energy costs will skyrocket by thousands of dollars per year for the average customer. Inez argues that Spanberger is another Democrat falsely branded as a moderate despite her progressive record.

Finally, they break down new polling that shows New York Gov. Kathy Hochul locked in a statistical tie with her likely GOP challenger, Rep. Elise Stefanik. Hochul's endorsement of Zohran Mamdani for mayor in New York City does not appear to be resonating well throughout the state.

Finally, they spotlight an obnoxious interview from former Rep. Katie Porter, who is now leading the Democratic field for California governor. Porter could not handle a few simple follow-up questions from a reporter and was on the verge of cutting off the interview as a result. Unfortunately, this performance is very on brand for Porter.

Finally, the controversy deepens in Virginia as Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones faces new allegations that he once suggested a few dead police officers might be needed to stop police shootings. The accusation comes just days after his admission to sending texts wishing death on a Republican lawmaker and his family. Jones adamantly denies the allegation but Scot explains why his denials fall flat considering what we already know.

Today, Kylee and Greg discuss the Virginia Democrats' attorney general nominee Jay Jones and his extensive texts wishing death for a political opponent and his children. They also discuss the ridiculously light sentence for the man who tried to kill Justice Brett Kavanaugh and the media finally admitting facts about the D.C. crime rate that the right was touting months ago.

First, they unpack the disturbing 2022 texts from the Virginia Democrats’ current attorney general nominee, Jay Jones, who repeatedly told a Republican colleague he’d like "two bullets to the head" of then–House Speaker Todd Gilbert and even wished death upon Gilbert’s child so it might convince Gilbert to change his mind on policy. Kylee and Greg break down Jones’s weak responses to the scandal and the largely indifferent reaction from Virginia Democrats.

Next, they recoil at a federal judge sentencing the man who plotted and tried to kill Justice Kavanaugh and other conservative justices after the Supreme Court opinion overturning Roe v. Wade was leaked. While the Justice Department recommended 30 years in prison, Judge Deborah Boardman sentenced Nicholas Roske to only eight years. And a major factor seems to be that Roske started identifying as a woman named Sophie after his arrest and Judge Boardman was worried about Roske in a men's prison. But Kylee also explains even more egregious actions by Boardman to whittle the sentence down to eight years.

Finally, they shake their heads as The Washington Post suddenly discovers that D.C. police officials have been downgrading serious charges to make crime stats look better. Trump supporters pointed out this manipulation months ago when the president ordered a 30-day federal takeover of D.C. policing, but the media dismissed it at the time. Why won't they tell the truth when it matters?
