Tom says lack of exercise, especially in the winter can depress the immune system and make people more susceptible to illnesses including the flu and pneumonia. Exercise he says can help ward off illness by strengthening the immune system. We hear people should exercise at least 3 times week, but Tom says as we age, the exercise frequency should increase.
