Operation Fuel's Summer Program. Brenda says there are currently 320 thousand households in Connecticut that cannot afford their energy bills, and Operation Fuel's statewide network of fuel banks began taking energy assistance applications on July 9th.Brenda says there are thousands of households in the state in danger of having their electricity or gas service terminated during the spring and summer.

Nutmeg State Games. The games opened July 14th and will continue for 23 days. It is the 30th anniversary for the games. 75 hundred athletes are expected to take part in over 20 different sports offerings both team and individual events, there will be 700 team sport games and 11 individual sports.
