Newsom Signs Bill Banning Single-use Propane Cylinders for Camping
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed a bill this week to ban one-pound, single-use propane cylinders, meaning that only more expensive reusable cylinders will be available in the state.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported:
Disposable propane canisters like the dark green ones used with camping stoves will soon be phased out in California, after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation Sunday requiring all one-pound cylinders sold in the state to be reusable or refillable starting in 2028.

The International Longshoremen’s Association, representing 45,000 dockworkers from Maine to Texas at 14 different ports, contracts expire Sept 30th and they are demanding higher wages equal to other dockworker’s pay and guaranteed job security that they will not be replaced by automation and AI.
1977 was the last time they went on strike. That was long before America became dependent on foreign imports for food and necessary goods. It’s very important to understand how critical this is given that America is now in a $36 billion dollar food trade deficit for the first time in our nation’s history. Also, the Biden-Harris administration and Congressional out of control spending has driven inflation so high that many Americans can’t afford quality of life. I think this situation is serious and could be a crisis going into the election, holidays, and winter depending if they strike and how long it lasts. Retailers have been trying to stock up in preparation, but it’s always smart to be personally prepared just in case.

Kamala Harris to Undermine Her Immigration Record During Friday’s Visit to Arizona

A law firm in Texas is representing more than 50 alleged victims who claim they were sexually assaulted by Sean “Diddy” Combs and his associates.
Attorney Tony Buzbee of the Buzbee Law Firm took to his company’s Instagram page Thursday to share the news, explaining that the firm was asked by the Ava Law Group “to act as Lead Counsel to pursue claims on behalf of more than fifty individuals who suffered sexual assault and abuse at the hands of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and his cohorts.”
Buzbee referred to the group as “brave” and noted that it includes “both men and women.”

The Minneapolis Police Department has just sworn in its first non-citizen officer, in addition to its first Somali female officer.
Ikran Mohamed and Lesly Vera were among nearly two dozen officers who were recently onboarded to join the police force, with the former being the department’s first Somali female to be recruited and the latter being the first non-citizen officer.
The report states that Vera is originally from Mexico but has resided in the US since she was 4 years old, calling Minneapolis her ‘home’ despite never becoming a citizen.
According to ABC News, MPD Chief Brian O’Hara cited a new change in the law, which now states that a ‘permanent resident’ who is a non-citizen can join the police department.

Bad blood with Republicans drives a decline in Taylor Swift’s poll numbers
The number of people with a favorable opinion of Swift declined compared to last year in the latest NBC News poll. Swift endorsed Kamala Harris several weeks ago.
About 47% of Republicans say they view Swift negatively in a poll conducted days after her presidential endorsement, a sharp uptick from the 26% who reported viewing her negatively in NBC’s Nov. 2023 poll, the last time she was included in the survey. Just 12% of Republicans report positive attitudes toward the singer, down from 28% last year.
Among Democrats, 58% view Swift in a positive light, a slight increase from 53% in 2023. About 26% of independents have a positive attitude toward Swift, a drop from 34% in 2023.
The significant shift from Republican voters has pushed Swift’s overall favorability rating among registered voters lower than last year, decreasing from 40% in 2023 to 33% this year. While 16% had negative feelings about her in 2023, 27% say they do now.

DEVELOPING: NY Appellate Judges Skeptical of Letitia James’ Civil Fraud Case Against Trump, Blast Her Deputy Solicitor General During Opening Statement
New York appellate judges appeared skeptical of Letitia James’s NYC civil fraud case against President Trump.
Two of the appellate judges interrupted Letitia James’s deputy solicitor general Judy Vale during her opening statement to ask her if there are any other examples of the state suing private business transactions where there was no victim.
“Every case that you cite involves damage to consumers, damage to the marketplace,” Justice David Friedman told Vale, according to Reuters.
“We don’t have anything like that here,” Friedman added, saying that nobody “lost any money.”

Whistleblower: The Biden-Harris Administration Is Sabotaging Trump’s Campaign
the Biden-Harris administration may be trying to undermine Trump’s ability to campaign in key swing states. We’re now learning that Trump recently had to cancel a planned campaign rally in the battleground state of Wisconsin after the Secret Service denied him adequate protection resources.
On Tuesday, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) addressed the issue in a letter to the acting director of the Secret Service, Ronald Rowe. Is Donald Trump on track to win a historic share of voters of color in November’s presidential election?
On the surface, it’s one of the most confounding questions of the Trump years in American politics. Trump — and the Republican Party in his thrall — has embraced anti-immigrant policies and proposals, peddled racist stereotypes, and demonized immigrants. So why does it look like he might win over and hold the support of greater numbers of nonwhite voters than the Republican Party of years past?
In poll after poll, he’s hitting or exceeding the levels of support he received in 2020 from Latino and Hispanic voters. He’s primed to make inroads among Asian American voters, whose Democratic loyalty has gradually been declining over the last few election cycles. And the numbers he’s posting with Black voters suggest the largest racial realignment in an election since the signing of the Civil Rights Act in 1964.
Why? Putting aside environmental factors and shifts in the American electorate that are happening independent of the candidates, there are a few theories to explain how Trump has uniquely weakened political polarization along the lines of race and ethnicity.
1) Trump has successfully associated himself with a message of economic nostalgia, heightening nonwhite Americans’ memories of the pre-Covid economy in contrast to the period of inflation we’re now exiting.
2) Trump and his campaign have also zeroed in specifically on outreach and messaging to nonwhite men as part of their larger focus on appealing to male voters.
3) Trump and his party have taken advantage of a confluence of social factors, including messaging on immigration and cultural issues, to shore up support from conservative voters of color who have traditionally voted for Democrats or not voted at all.

Historic federal indictment against Mayor Adams claims he took $10M in illegal donations, free luxury travel, ritzy perks
Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on charges he allegedly took $10 million in illegal campaign contributions and bribes — including free flights and ritzy perks — from foreign nationals in exchange for favors, according to a bombshell federal indictment unsealed by Manhattan prosecutors Thursday.
“In 2014, Eric Adams, the defendant, became Brooklyn Borough President. Thereafter, for nearly a decade, Adams sought and accepted improper valuable benefits, such as luxury international travel, including from wealthy foreign businesspeople and at least one Turkish government official seeking to gain influence over him,” the 57-page indictment charges.
Prior to the indictment coming down, sources had revealed the charges were likely connected to allegations the Turkish government had illegally funneled money into Adams’ mayoral campaign in exchange for approval of the Turkish consulate in Manhattan.

If Adams were to leave office early following his federal indictment, he would be replaced by Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.
Williams, a progressive Democrat who has been the public advocate since 2019, would take over as acting mayor and be in charge of setting the date for a special election.

North Korea has enough plutonium and uranium to produce at least a double-digit number of nuclear weapons, a South Korean lawmaker said on Thursday, citing the country’s spy agency.
The agency also sees the prospect of North Korea potentially carrying out a seventh nuclear test after the U.S. presidential election on November 5, Lee Seong-kweun, who sits on the parliamentary intelligence committee, said.
Lee said it was rare for North Korean state media to report on leader Kim Jong Un’s visit to a uranium enrichment facility, suggesting the report published earlier this month was likely aimed at sending a message to Washington ahead of the U.S. presidential election.

No CBDC, Says Canadian, Australian, and Colombian Central Banks
The Human Rights Foundation’s Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) Tracker shows that over 1.5 billion people are living in countries where CBDCs have been rolled out. However, not all central banks appear to be on board. The central banks in Canada, Australia, and Colombia recently came out in opposition to the idea of issuing CBDCs.
In an update to its website, the Bank of Canada said it is “scaling down its work on a retail central bank digital currency and shifting its focus to broader payments system research and policy development.” Just before that, the Reserve Bank of Australia published a report that said, “There is no clear public interest case to issue retail CBDC in Australia as yet.” Finally, in July, the Banco de la República de Colombia published a report that said “there are not sufficient reasons for the issuance of [a CBDC] (retail or wholesale) in Colombia.”
To be clear, the statements made by the Canadian, Australian, and Colombian central banks are by no means binding, but these statements are a welcome change of pace, nonetheless.

Federal firearm buyback program has cost $67M since 2020, still hasn’t collected guns
The federal firearm buyback program has cost taxpayers nearly $67.2 million since it was announced in 2020, but it still hasn’t collected a single gun.
The program is designed to compensate owners of assault-style firearms that were banned by the Liberal government in 2020(opens in a new tab). Although many details of the program still haven’t been revealed after four years, businesses and gun owners only have until the end of October 2025 to turn in, deactivate or dispose of outlawed weapons. The government estimates there are 150,000 prohibited assault-style firearms(opens in a new tab) in the country.
The $67.2 million includes $56.1 million spent by Public Safety Canada and almost $11.1 million by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Nearly $11.5 million of that money went to external consultants for software, logistics, communication support and more.

Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo tried to “inappropriately influence” a top aide’s testimony during a congressional investigation into his administration’s disastrous mandate that forced COVID-19 patients into nursing homes, a bombshell new House document claimed.
Witness Jim Malatras said the 66-year-old ex-governor made him “uncomfortable” by calling and texting him as the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic probed the March 25, 2020 “must admit” order for nursing homes, according to new evidence in a subcommittee staff memo exclusively obtained by The Post.
The House COVID panel revealed in a memo earlier this month that Cuomo had reached out to Malatras to “check in” at least once during the course of their investigation.

Databases for search: ALLFEDS + ALLSTATES (this searches all reported and many unreported cases in all federal courts AND state courts — I did not even limit my search as to state courts in California alone). Boolean search terms: adv: ((kamala /3 harris) /2 argued) This first part of that Boolean search finds the universe of all cases where Kamala Harris (including Kamala D. Harris and Kamala Devi Harris — or any other potential variants of her name) appears. Then the second part of the search narrows that universe down to cases where the word “argues” appears within 2 words of her name. The search returns only 5 cases–see the first picture below. I then manually checked each of the 5 cases returned by the search. In each of those, one of her subordinates argued, not her–see, for example, the second picture below (noting that her subordinate Steve Oetting was the one who argued Flournoy v. Small in the Ninth Circuit — one of the 13 federal circuits).
Practices can vary, but in general, prosecutors — especially in state systems — often argue their own appeals. Not Kamala. She never even attempted the feat, which requires the lawyer presenting or defending the appeal to both know the law, think on their feet in responding to questions from a panel of three or more judges, and know the factual record. Westlaw also includes a report about cases worked on. But it goes back only to 2014, and by then she was already AG and doing nothing more than supervising, so nothing about her own chops as a lawyer in her own right can be gleaned from that report. I note that I find it an insult that she sat in judgment on the second Senate Judiciary Committee vote on my nomination to join the leadership of the Justice Department in early 2018 (she voted against me, but I still got out of Committee). Based on my research thus far, she is not a technically accomplished lawyer.
I also note that even during my high-level service in the U.S. Justice Department, I continued to argue some cases myself. Legal reporters were puzzled and asked me why several times. I told them that I wanted to keep the saw sharp. That is how real lawyers think and act. I also note that I argued more cases myself personally than any of the other 5 to 6 Assistant Attorney Generals in the Trump Administration running litigating Divisions at Main Justice like I did. (I originally ran 1 Division but eventually simultaneously ran 2 Divisions, which is why I talk about 5 to 6 other Division. The total number of litigating Divisions at USDOJ is 7.)
Kamala also takes after her running mate, Joe Biden, who did poorly in law school and was even caught plagiarizing during his studies. (And remember that Kamala failed the bar exam once.) Yet, Biden got to sit in judgment on the Senate Judiciary of both the great Yale Law Professor, constitutional and antitrust scholar, and Kirkland & Ellis partner Robert Bork — and in judgment of the great and long-service Justice Clarence Thomas — during their respective confirmation hearings. And yet both Biden and Harris, when they were Senators, acted like royal legal scholars when they were questioning such nominees as Bork, Thomas, and Kavanaugh. It disgusted me at the time and still does. (I watched Bork’s nomination when I was in college. I watched Clarence Thomas’s the year before I started law school.
And I watched Brett Kavanaugh’s during a period when I was preparing for an oral argument of my own before the Fifth Circuit, when I was in private practice.) Now, one of our two major parties has nominated Kamala to be President. She wasn’t qualified to sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee, let alone be Commander in Chief or Magistrate in Chief, or to select future Supreme Court Justices — which she will select an awful lot of if she gets elected and then packs the Supreme Court, as she has said she plans to do. Lastly, I note that I am still trying to actually lay my hands on a transcript where she first-chaired a trial as a California prosecutor. She and her campaign (@KamalaHarris) could easily assist me and put to rest any doubts about her legal bona fides — and do so at any time — by locating such a transcript, uploading it to a storage site, and linking to it on X in response to this post. The challenge to do that is weeks old now. And the days are counting down to the election — one in which Democrats tell us that she is a sharp-as-nails prosecutor whom the Nation should trust with its highest office and this is one of her main qualifications. That claim is starting to ring very hollow. I hope that America wakes up before it is too late.

This group is called The Police Leaders for Community Safety, and if this strikes you as a rather generic-sounding outfit, you are entirely correct. The “stunning” aspect of their endorsement is pure hyperbole, given we are talking about a group that entails little more than a few dozen members. And just who are they?
They are comprised of former law enforcement members. The chairwoman, Riseling, is (we are serious here) the former Chief of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police. So, she is a former campus cop.
this organization was just formed in June of this year! It is completely a prefab outfit designed to generate a favorable headline for Harris, done in the hopes of countering Trump’s backing by the legitimate police organization, in existence for generations.

the Dept of Homeland Security and FBI are now admitting that Routh was on a watch list of Americans who traveled to fight with Ukraine. The people on the watch list were supposed to be scrutinized and tracked when they reentered the USA. However, Ryan Routh, “fell through the cracks,” thereby giving him space and opportunity to carry out his long-planned assassination attempt against President Trump.
There is a consistent pattern of names registered with the FBI as potential threats to the homeland who “fall through the cracks,” including the Tsarnaev brothers (Boston Marathon), Tashfeen Malik (San Bernardino terrorists) and Omar Mateen (Pulse nightclub). It is always the crack fallers who seemingly end up carrying out their endeavors.
It’s likely the only reason DHS and the FBI are admitting to the almost fatal “mistake,” is because there is a document trail for Ryan Routh which will come to light as an outcome of DC’s “assassination review task force.” After all, Ryan Routh met with “someone” in Washington DC, when he was there advocating for intervention.

On the eve of its trial of Newsmax, Smartmatic has voluntarily reduced its claim for damages by over a billion dollars because it seeks to hide from the jury key evidence concerning allegations of criminal activities by its executives.

Harris campaign office damaged by gunfire in Arizona
Tempe, Arizona, police are investigating what appears to be gunfire damage overnight at a Democratic Party-coordinated campaign office for Vice President Kamala Harris.
The incident occurred just a few days before Harris is scheduled to visit Arizona as she campaigns for president.
“We can confirm that on 9/23/24, what appears to be damage from gunfire at … a DNC Campaign Office, was discovered,” said the Tempe Police Department in a statement to NBC News on Tuesday.
The office is shared by staff for the Arizona Democratic Party, the Harris campaign, and Senate and House campaigns, to boost turnout for the party in November.
Sean McEnerney, the coordinated campaign manager for the state Democratic Party, also confirmed the incident in a statement.

Group seeks criminal charges against former President Trump, JD Vance for false claims of Haitian immigrants eating pets in Springfield, Ohio
Haitian Bridge Alliance is being represented by The Chandra Law Firm of Cleveland.
A nonprofit organization advocating for Haitian migrants has filed criminal charges against former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Ohio U.S. Sen. JD Vance, for “baseless fearmongering” that legal Haitian immigrants in Springfield are eating their neighbor’s pets.
According to a release from The Chandra Law Firm, based in Cleveland, the nonprofit Haitian Bridge Alliance is seeking that Trump and Vance be arrested and charged with disrupting public service, making false claims, committing telecommunications harassment, committing aggravated menacing and violating the prohibition against complicity.
Under Ohio Revised Codes 2935.09 and 2935.01(A), the law grants private citizens the ability to “file an affidavit charging the offense committed.” It also requires the court to either issue arrest warrants or refer the case to the prosecuting attorney for investigation.
“The Haitian community is suffering in fear because of Trump and Vance’s relentless, irresponsible, false alarms, and public services have been disrupted. Trump and Vance must be held accountable to the rule of law. Anyone else who wreaked havoc the way they did would have been arrested by now,” lead counsel Subodh Chandra said in a statement.

FTC Commissioner Warns New Report Could Be Used By Big Tech To Justify Censorship
A U.S. Federal Trade Commission official is concerned that a new 129-page report penned by her agency could be easily construed by Big Tech companies to justify the partisan censorship that has plagued their sites for years.
In its “A Look Behind the Scenes: Examining the Data Practices of Social Media and Video Streaming Services” report published last week, the FTC suggests Amazon, Facebook, Google’s YouTube, Twitter, Snap, ByteDance (TikTok’s parent company), Discord, Reddit, and WhatsApp are guilty of participating in a “vast surveillance” operation.
the FTC’s repeated calls for “more stringent testing and monitoring standards” without defining what that means or what content it applies to could put Americans’ First Amendment rights at further risk of infringement.

Oran Routh was taken into custody after investigators found hundreds of child porn files on his Galaxy Note during a search of his North Carolina residence over the weekend.

The U.S. District Court for the Colorado District last week issued an order demanding the Democrat secretary of state release Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) reports suspected of containing dead registrants on the state’s voter rolls. The reports, according to a settlement, include individuals who may have died within the past three years.
It’s another significant election integrity victory for the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), and another stunning loss for election transparency-stifling Griswold and ERIC.
“PILF has knocked down ERIC’s wall of secrecy in the voter list maintenance process,” J. Christian Adams, president of the election integrity watchdog organization, said in a press release. “States cannot use third parties to hide election records that the public has a right to see.”

Russia and Iran using AI to influence US election: DNI
Russia and Iran are using artificial intelligence to influence the American election, U.S. intelligence officials said on Monday.
“Foreign actors are using AI to more quickly and convincingly tailor synthetic content,” an official with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said. “The IC (intelligence community) considers AI a malign influence, accelerant, not yet a revolutionary influence tool.”
Officials saw AI being used in overseas elections, but it has now made its way to American elections, according to intelligence officials, who says there is evidence Russian manipulated Vice President Kamala Harris’ speeches.Russia “has generated the most AI content related to the election, and has done so across all four mediums, text, images, audio and video,” an ODNI official said.
“These items include AI generated content of and about prominent U.S. figures whose content is also consistent with Russia’s broader efforts to boost the former president’s candidacy and denigrate the Vice President and the Democratic Party, including through conspiratorial narratives,” according to an ODNI official.
Iran has also used AI in its election influence efforts, including help in writing fake social media posts and news articles to further Iran’s objectives, which are to denigrate the former President Donald Trump’s candidacy, the official said.

a federal judge gave Trump until September 27 to file a brief of up to 10,000 words on why the case would be heard.

Curiously, the DNC memo claims that “over 1.6 million Americans from the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin” live overseas, adding that they plan to “fight for every vote.”

Bitcoin Mining Shutdown Caused 20% Surge In Norwegian Electricity Bills
The closure of a Bitcoin mining facility in the Norwegian town of Hadsel has led to a 20% increase in electricity bills for residents.
The mine was shut down after the municipality declined to renew its permit due to noise complaints.
Kryptovault operated the mining facility for 20% of local power company Noranett’s revenue.

The messages that the devices received were not from Hezbollah leadership; they were from Israel’s intelligence and military apparatus, and they were part of a multi-year plan.
Israel never intercepted the pagers — it made them.
However, unbeknownst to Hezbollah, Israel had been secretly manufacturing the pagers that Hezbollah was buying for years.
The Taiwanese company Gold Apollo had contracted with a company called B.A.C. Consulting in Hungary to manufacture the pagers. B.A.C. Consulting was one of three shell companies that Israel created to mask the true manufacturer of the communications equipment: Israeli intelligence.
B.A.C. Consulting created real pagers for numerous customers to create the perception of a legitimate company in order to get picked up for the contract to produce the pagers for Hezbollah.
The pagers manufactured for Hezbollah were separate from those made for other clients, the report said. The pagers that Hezbollah received “contained batteries laced with the explosive PETN” and began shipping in 2022, the report said.

Ukraine bans official use of Telegram app over fears of Russian spying
Ukraine has banned use of the Telegram messaging app on official devices used by government officials, military personnel and critical workers because it believes its enemy Russia can spy on both messages and users, a top security body said on Friday.
The National Security and Defence Council announced the restrictions after Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s GUR military intelligence agency, presented the council with evidence of Russian special services’ ability to snoop on the platform, it said in a statement.
But Andriy Kovalenko, head of the security council’s centre on countering disinformation, posted on Telegram that the restrictions apply only to official devices, not personal phones.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has accused the FBI of blocking a state investigation into the second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
In a press conference on Tuesday, DeSantis announced that Florida would conduct its own investigation, asserting that federal agencies cannot be trusted to investigate threats against Trump due to their ongoing efforts to prosecute him.

In another win for election integrity efforts in Georgia, the state board of elections—in a 3-2 decision—is requiring counties to hand count all ballots in November’s election. According to the Georgia State Election Board, ballots will still be counted electronically as well, but the hand count will be required prior to official certification of the election results.
Critics of the decision are disingenuously claiming that requiring a handout has the potential of “upending the November election” and could “[delay] reporting of results by weeks if not months.” However, the electronic count will still occur, and voters will almost certainly know the election results reasonably quickly.

Scarred by violence, lawmakers plan for possible ‘mass casualty’ event
Imagine the unthinkable: a mass shooting of members of Congress that leaves a large swath of the country unrepresented and shifts the balance of political power in Washington. In the current political environment, such an outbreak of violence is not as unthinkable as it used to be, according to a bipartisan collection of House members. The attempted assassination of members at a congressional baseball team practice in 2017, the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, a dramatic spike in threats against members and, most recently, a possible second assassination attempt against former president Donald Trump highlight the need for Congress to ensure it can continue to govern in the aftermath of mass violence, they said. To address such a scenario, these four House members — two Republicans and two Democrats — are pushing an unlikely solution: a constitutional amendment that would allow members to be replaced quickly in the event of a mass-casualty event. In addition to ensuring uninterrupted representation for constituents, the amendment would discourage attempts to use violence to sway the balance of power in the House.
“We’ve seen a 300 percent increase in threats against members over the last seven years, according to the Capitol Police,” said Rep. Derek Kilmer (D-Wash.), one of four lawmakers pushing the issue. “In an environment where we have seen a growing tendency toward political violence, imagine — horrifically — a baseball practice where someone has bad intentions and better aim. You can literally flip a majority for three to four months. Which I think is a frightening incentive for political violence.” Their proposed constitutional amendment would require each member of the House to submit the names of at least five individuals from his or her political party to their state’s governor. In the event of that representative’s death, the governor would choose a name from the list within 10 days, and the House speaker would be required to seat them immediately.
The “continuity amendment” would also deny a would-be assassin the power to flip control of the House from one party to another, Kilmer said.

An international law enforcement operation has dismantled an encrypted communication platform, known as Ghost, notorious for enabling large-scale drug trafficking and money laundering, Europol said on Wednesday.
The investigation led to the arrest of 51 suspects from multiple countries, with more arrests expected.
The platform had gained popularity among criminal organisations for its advanced security features and its dismantling marks a significant blow to global organised crime networks.

Tuberville calls for Navy SEALs to protect Trump
Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) suggested Monday that Navy SEALs be employed to protect former President Trump, as he lamented the security in place during the second apparent assassination attempt against the GOP nominee.
“I don’t know who’s running our country, but somebody needs to step to the plate and at least act like you care about a Republican candidate, but they truly don’t,” Tuberville said in an interview on Fox Business with Larry Kudlow. “They could care less.”

A Hard Shot Across the Bow: Is Louisiana’s Voting System Unconstitutional?
A recent State District lawsuit filed by a veteran state election official alleges that Louisiana’s voting system is facially unconstitutional because the State uses a purely machine-based voting apparatus called Direct Recording Equipment (DRE) to count the overwhelming majority of votes cast.
It is impossible to “publicly” count these votes, or to “preserve” them “inviolate” pending any challenges to the count because they are counted inside of a machine using proprietary recording software that only the machine manufacturer may access.
Louisiana Constitution Article XI, Section 2 explicitly requires that “Ballots shall be counted publicly and preserved inviolate as provided by law until any election contests have been settled…” (Emphasis added).
Under Louisiana’s current system, there is simply no way to determine whether such cyber fraud has occurred or to what extent because it is all done under cover of darkness that nobody is allowed to penetrate except the potential bad actors.

In the past two months, Microsoft has observed a notable shift in Russian influence operations tactics reflecting the changing U.S. political environment. Specifically, we have observed Russia pivot towards targeting the Harris-Walz campaign, with actors disseminating fabricated videos designed to sow discord and spread disinformation about the new Democratic nominee Vice President Harris.
We discuss this activity in a new report by the Microsoft Threat Analysis Center (MTAC) released today. This update follows other reports we have released around activity by actors advancing the geopolitical goals of Iran and China.
The shift to focusing on the Harris-Walz campaign reflects a strategic move by Russian actors aimed at exploiting any perceived vulnerabilities in the new candidates.

The French parliament has made the unprecedented move after the president appointed a minority PM
The proposal to impeach French President Emmanuel Macron has cleared a major procedural hurdle in the parliament and will proceed to committee for consideration.
The New Popular Front (NPF) coalition, which won the most National Assembly seats in this summer’s legislative elections, but not enough to have a majority, announced the measure earlier this month, after Macron snubbed their candidate for prime minister, Lucie Castets.
More than 80 NPF lawmakers had signed the proposal, satisfying the constitutional requirement to get the backing of at least 10% of the 577-member parliament. On Monday, the NPF petition was approved in a 12-10 vote in the Bureau of the National Assembly, the parliamentary managing body.

The petition now heads to the Legal Committee, where it will have to be considered. The Assembly is obligated to put it on the agenda within two weeks of the committee’s conclusion, whenever that happens. Should the resolution make it to the parliament’s agenda, it would mark the first time in the history of the Fifth Republic that the National Assembly would discuss the recall of the head of state,
Actually impeaching Macron would require a two-thirds vote in the National Assembly, or 385 members. All of the opposition put together has only 364 seats, however. Should it somehow be approved, the resolution would head to the Senate, where it would require 232 votes.

The explosions occurred at 3:45 p.m. local time. Panic spread as Hezbollah-controlled areas in southern Beirut and other parts of the country were hit with explosions that lasted for over an hour.
Security sources confirmed that the devices were the latest models used by Hezbollah and were thought to be critical in their communications amidst their war efforts against Israel.

Blinken is heading back to the Middle East, this time without fanfare or a visit to Israel
Secretary of State Antony Blinken heads to Egypt on Tuesday for his 10th trip to the Middle East since the war in Gaza began nearly a year ago, this one aimed partly at refining a proposal to present to Israel and Hamas for a cease-fire deal and release of hostages.
Unlike in recent mediating missions, America’s top diplomat this time is traveling without optimistic projections from the Biden administration of an expected breakthrough in the troubled negotiations.
Also unlike the earlier missions, Blinken has no public plans to go to Israel to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on this trip.

Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall spoke about the growing threat that China poses to the Indo-Pacific region
“I’ve been closely watching the evolution of [China’s] military for 15 years. China is not a future threat; China is a threat today,” Kendall told a large in-person and remote audience composed predominantly of Air and Space Force personnel.
The secretary went on to explain that the Chinese Communist Party continues to heavily invest in capabilities, operational concepts and organizations that are specifically designed to defeat the United States and its allies’ ability to project power in the Western Pacific region, including weapons targeting U.S. land and sea assets like air bases and aircraft carriers.
“In addition, China continues to expand its nuclear forces and its ability to operate in cyberspace,” Kendall said. “We can expect all these trends to continue.”
Kendall further explained that, when traveling to the Indo-Pacific region over the past 15 years, he has seen a growing concern and, at times, alarm from other countries concerning China’s growing capabilities and intentions.
An example of such capabilities and intentions include China’s moving toward larger and more sophisticated exercises tailored for an invasion and blockade of Taiwan, Kendall said.
“I am not saying war in the Pacific is imminent or inevitable. It is not,” Kendall said. “But I am saying that the likelihood is increasing and will continue to do so.”
