「But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;

　I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.」　Amen.

　David was in the midst of a flight. In other words, he was in the midst of a series of hardships. But he said he was like an olive tree. An olive tree has green leaves all year round. There are days of good times and days of adversity during the year. Whether circumstances are good or bad, they are green. No matter what the situation, if we rely on God, thank Him for what we have, and pray, we will find a way.

　May today be a day of relying on the Lord.

『しかし私は　神の家に生い茂るオリーブの木。

　私は世々限りなく　神の恵みに拠り頼む。』

　今、ダビデは逃避行の真っただ中である。言い換えれば苦難の連続なのです。しかし、オリーブの木のようだと言っています。オリーブの木は、一年中緑の葉を茂らせているのです。一年中ですから、順境の日もあれば逆境の日もあります。順境も逆境も関係なく緑なのです。どんな状況の中にあったとしても、神に依り頼み、今ある事に感謝し、祈りつつ過ごしていくと、きっと道は開けていくのです。

　今日も、主に依り頼む一日となりますように・・・。

「Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,

　And cleanse me from my sin.」　Amen.

  Those who are aware of their sins, those who are not aware at all, those who repent, those who do not repent, those who are in awe, and those who are indifferent, each choose their own path, but their destinations differ greatly. Both Saul, the first king, and David, the second king, were anointed by the prophet Samuel, but Saul met an untimely end and David died in blessing. The difference was whether they obeyed God or not.

May we obey the Lord today as well.

『私の咎を　私からすっかり洗い去り

　私の罪から　私をきよめてください。』

　自分の罪を自覚している人、全く自覚していない人、悔い改める人、そうでない人、畏敬の念を持つ人、無頓着の人、それぞれに自分で選び取った道ではありますが、その行き着く先は随分と違ってきます。初代王様サウルも二代目王様ダビデも共に預言者サムエルから油注がれましたが、サウルは非業の最後を遂げ、ダビデは祝福のうちに亡くなりました。その違いは、神様に従順するかしないかだったのです。

　今日も、主に從うことができますように・・・。

「Call upon Me in the day of trouble;

　I will deliver you,

　and you shall glorify Me.」　Amen.

If I were asked, "If you were alone on a desert island and could take only one book with you, what would it be?" I would instantly answer, "The Bible."  The protagonist of the novel "Robinson Crusoe" opened the Bible amidst the fear of death. And that verse was Psalm 50:15. At that moment, a day of tribulation turned into a day of joy.

『苦難の日に

　わたしを呼び求めよ。

　わたしはあなたを助け出し

　あなたはわたしをあがめる。』

  「一人、無人島、一冊だけ書物を持っていけるとしたら、何を持っていく？」と、問われたら、即、「聖書」と私は答えるでしょう。小説「ロビンソン・クルーソー」の中でも、主人公は、死の恐れの中から持っていた聖書を開くのです。そして、その箇所が50篇15節だったのです。ここから、「苦難の日」が「喜びの日」へと変えられたのです。

　今日も、喜びに満たされた一日となりますように・・・。

「Hear this, all peoples;

　Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,

  Both low and high,

　Rich and poor together.」　Amen.

Psalm 49 has been called the "Psalm of Wisdom.It says, "Hear, all you who live in the world, and give ear to the word of wisdom.　Whether you are low or high, rich or poor, you need not many things, but only one. It is up to us to choose or not to choose. We want to choose the good.

May today be another day of trusting in the Lord.

『すべて国々の民よ　これを聞け。

　すべて世に住む者よ　耳を傾けよ。

　低い者も高い者も

　富む者も貧しい者も　ともどもに。』

　詩篇49篇は、「知恵の詩篇」と言われています。この世に住んでいる全ての人よ、知恵の言葉を聞け、耳を傾けよと歌っているのです。身分が低い人も高い人も、富む人も貧しい人も、必要なことは多くはなく、ただ一つなのです。それを選ぶか選ばないかの選択の自由は、私たちに委ねられているのです。良きものを選びたいものです。

　今日も、主に信頼を寄せる一日となりますように・・・。　

「As we have heard,So we have seen

　In the city of the Lord of hosts,In the city of our God:

　God will establish it forever. Selah」　Amen.

  Bible prophecy tells us that Jerusalem will be destroyed in 70 A.D. and that the nation of Israel will be rebuilt. And we saw them as we heard them. We saw the birth and resurrection of Jesus as it was prophesied. And what is going to happen is also written in the Bible. Only God knows if we will see them before we go to heaven. It is important to live humbly before the Lord.

May we turn our hearts to the Word of the Lord also today.

『私たちは聞いたとおりを見た。

　万軍の【主】の都　私たちの神の都で。

　神は都をとこしえに堅く立てられる。セラ』

　エルサレムが紀元70年に滅ぼされることも、また、イスラエルという国が再建されることも、聖書預言に書かれてあることです。そして、私たちはそれを聞いたとおりに見たのです。イエス様が救い主として生まれることも復活されたことも聞いたとおりに見てきたのです。そして、これから先に起こることも聖書に書かれてあるのです。見ずして天に召されるのかどうかは、神のみぞ知る。主を前において、粛々と過ごすことが肝要なのです。

　今日も、主のみ言葉に心を向けることができますように・・・。
