「"He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire before the Lord for him by the judgment of the Urim. At his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in, he and all the children of Israel with him-all the congregation."」　　Amen.

After ascending Mount Abarim at the Lord's command and looking over the Promised Land, Moses, informed of his approaching death, appoints Joshua as his successor. Then, he moves into the new Canaanite era by following the Lord's words spoken through El-Azar the priest. As we walk according to the Lord's command, no matter what happens, God will not abandon us, but will watch over us to the end.

　May we move as the Lord commands us today....

『彼は祭司エルアザルの前に立ち、

　エルアザルは【主】の前で、

　ウリムによるさばきを自分のために伺わなければならない。

　ヨシュアと彼とともにいるイスラエルの子らのすべての者、

　すなわち全会衆は、エルアザルの命令によって出、

　また、彼の命令によって入らなければならない。』

　主の命のままにアバリム山に登り、約束の地を見渡した後、死の近きを知らされたモーセは、後継者としてヨシュアを任命するのです。そして、祭司エルアザルを通して語られる主の言葉通りに出処進退して、新しいカナン時代へと移っていくのです。主の命に従って歩んでいくと、何があっても、神様が見捨てることなく、最後まで見守ってくださるのです。

　今日も、主の命ずるままに動くことができますように・・・。　

「But among these there was not a man of those

　who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest

　when they numbered the children of Israel in

　the Wilderness of Sinai.」　Amen.

　The population census was conducted twice in the book of Numbers. The first time was on the first day of the second month of the second year after leaving Egypt,The second time was 40 years later, resulting in only two people, Joshua and Caleb, being able to enter the land of Canaan after experiencing the Exodus. The rest were destroyed at some point because of their unbelief. If you hear the voice of God on this day, repent and obey God, and that is the way to enter the Promised Land.

　シナイの荒野でモーセと祭司アロンがイスラエルの子らを

　登録したときに登録された者は、一人もいなかった。』

　人口調査を民数記の中で二度行いました。第一回は、エジプトを出て二年目の第二の月の一日に、

第二回目は、４０年後に、その結果、出エジプトを経験して、カナンの地へ入れるのは、ヨシュアとカレブの二人だけでした。後の人たちは、不信仰ゆえに、どこかの時点で滅ぼされたのでした。今日という日に御声を聞いたら、悔い改めて、神に從うのが、約束の地に入る方法なのです。

　今日も、主のみ旨を聴くことができますように・・・。　

「They invited the people to the sacrifices of their gods,

　and the people ate and bowed down to their gods.」　Amen.

  The Israelites were seduced by the women of Moab and eventually began to worship their gods.The drinker, with the slightest intention of having a drink, becomes a deep drinker and becomes an alcoholic. Those who indulge in pleasure hear sirens in their ears at first, but soon they no longer hear those warning sirens. Slutty thoughts dwell in our hearts as well. They must be dealt with through the blood of Jesus' cross.

　Be holy before the Lord today....

『その娘たちが、

　自分たちの神々のいけにえの食事に民を招くと、

　民は食し、娘たちの神々を拝んだ。』

　イスラエルの民は、モアブの女に誘惑され、ついには、彼女らの神々を拝むようになったのです。

酒飲みは、つい一杯のつもりが深酒となり、アルコール中毒症となっていきます。快楽にふける者は、最初はサイレンを耳にしていますが、やがて、その警告のサイレンが聞こえなくなってしまうのです。私たちの心の中にも、ふしだらな思いは宿っているのです。イエス様の十字架の血潮によって処理しなければならないのです。

　今日も、主の前で聖とならんことを・・・。　　

「The utterance of him who hears the words of God,

　Who sees the vision of the Almighty,

　Who falls down, with eyes wide open:」　Amen.

　Balaam heard the voice of God again and again, and was made to see a destiny unseen by ordinary people. But in the end he perished as an apostate. Receiving special abilities or revelations does not necessarily make one more like God. Saul, who was anointed as a king, and Judas Iscariot, who was an apostle, both ended up ruined. A true new birth is needed.

　May we be reborn by the Lord today....

『神の御告げを聞く者、

　全能者の幻を見る者、ひれ伏し、

　目の開かれた者の告げたことば。』

　バラムは、再三にわたり神の声を聞き、普通の人には見られない運命を見通す者とされました。でも、最後は背教者として滅んでいったのです。特別な能力や黙示を受けたからと言って、神に似た者とされるとは限りません。王としての油注ぎを受けたサウル、使徒となっていたイスカリオテのユダ、いずれも最後は破滅でした。真の新生が必要なのです。

　今日も、主によって生まれ変われますように・・・。　

「Behold, I have received a command to bless;

　He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.」　　Amen.

　Balaam wanted to be rewarded for cursing Israel as King Balak wished, but God would not allow it. Balaam had to speak God's will no matter how much he tried to disobey God, and no matter how many people had plans to disobey God, in the end, only God's will would be done. That is why it is better to raise the white flag and follow God.

　May we obey the Lord's will today.

　私はそれをくつがえすことはできない。』

　バラムは、バラク王の願う通りにイスラエルを呪って報酬を得たかったのですが、神は、それを許しませんでした。いかに神に背こうとしても、神のみ旨を語らなければならなかったバラム、人がいかに神に逆らう計画を持っていたとしても、結局、神のみ旨だけがなるのです。だから、白旗を上げて神に從うのが得策なのです。

　今日も、主のみ旨に從うことができますように・・・。
